I smiled, grabbed her hand, and placed a kiss on it. “Why would I need to? I have you to defend me, don’t I?” Jasmine froze for a moment, staring at me blankly. After a while, just as I began to think I had ruined everything with my reckless confession, a feather-light kiss brushed my cheek. Jasmine turned away and spoke in a soft voice, “Then I guess I’ll just have to keep an eye on you from now on.” The sunlight bathed her in a golden glow, etching her into my memory as the most beautiful sight I had ever seen.

And I wait.

We moved parallel to them, like two ghosts trailing two flickering candles, maintaining a precarious distance in the absolute dark. Slowly, agonizingly, the density of the blackness thinned. The harsh lines of the trees softened, the edges of the path became defined, and the world began to bleed back into existence. Darkness faded, and we could see everywhere clearly now, the muted colors of the dawn filtering through the leaves. Morning came, and so, the duty that brought us out. The time for silent evasion was over, replaced by the grim, undeniable necessity of confrontation.

"You are just repeating the question. You better tell me how we could defeat the sun man at this situation?" He sighed. "I told you, we cannot defeat him if we don't have any power, we shall wait the darkness to come. Do not worry to much because after a few moments, my power will work again," Cain replied. I was curious. "What do you mean by darkness?" I asked. "I meant, the dawn, that is the darkness," he explained.

The future is uncertain, the path ahead fraught with danger and darkness, but in this moment, they find solace in each other, in the bond that has always held them together. But even as they hold each other, as they find comfort in the warmth of their embrace, the darkness looms ever closer, a shadow that threatens to consume them all. For the dawn has come, but the night is far from over. And in the darkness, something stirs—a force that will test them all, that will push them to their limits, that will force them to confront the darkest parts of themselves.

It was simply a time in the middle, that connected the day to the night. The evening was a lost princess trying to choose between the light and darkness. Much like that Athina, who stood in between the darkness, Zayden and the light which was the life she was currently living. When observing light versus darkness, the light seemed to answer. But doesn't the darkness need to reach the light?
