“Looks like you’re dumb after all.” I wasn’t dumb. I was just dumbstruck with my realization of what he was referring to. “Well, I'll tell you.” He continued. “Three nights from now. The moon will be out in all its fullness and glory, and it will be hovering over us right there.” He pointed for emphasis. “Making that night The Night Of The Mating Moon. The same night we met for the first time.” He concluded with evil sprayed all over his expression. I was still too dazed to talk and could only wonder what he was trying to say.

Soon the bright bright day will be replaced by the Bloody Night - the Night of the Wolf. John stood with his hands in his jeans pockets, staring out into the horizon. He watched the sun go down slowly, coloring the sky with bizarre colors. His jaws were tightly clenched, his brows were furrowed, and his posture was tense. With his whole body he felt the approach of night and that with it a power would come that he had never had before.

The charade, meticulously orchestrated, awaited its moment of revelation. The night's journey continued, and as the first rays of dawn painted the sky with hues of pink and gold, the sleeping couple began to stir. As their eyes fluttered open to the new day, they found themselves standing on the precipice of a tumultuous journey, a journey that would test the strength of their love and the depth of their commitment.

As I climb, I can feel the power of the night around me and I just close my eyes, letting my consciousness join with Night's so that we become one and in that instant, I can feel the Night enveloping me completely. I can see the stars that are trying to shine under the care of my Mother, I can hear those who are praying for the Night to bless and protect them, and my soul vibrates for each creature that is trying to overpower the one that dominates the earthly plane when the Sun goes to rest... I can also understand that the Night opens so that the Light of the Day can shine, but that it was not because the Light of the Day is imposing itself but because the two understand each other...

The moon was a brilliant beacon that lit up the sky, the centerpiece the stars flocked around. At the very center, where Day and Night met, stood two men. They were part of the four that escorted us contestants to the house. I had once labeled them as Day, Night, Sunrise, and Sunset. Apollo was clearly sunrise, and the two men standing at the center of the clearing, were Day and Night.

, She looks at him as she waits for a reply. " I don't know why but you did it yourself and I am proud of you", he smiles at her and stands up. " And you are right, morning truly came." He assists her in getting up and holds her hand. " Now that there is light, we can see." Emily frowns, light shown when he called her name in her nightmares. That means he is the one that let light shine on them. His positivity and bravery is the light and she is the darkness.

“I miss you, too. Now go finish and get to bed yourself. Baby bean and I are going to eat some mac and cheese, then go finish off a pint of ice cream.” “Not exactly healthy eating.” “No, it’s tired eating,” I said with a chuckle. “Goodnight, Richard.” “Goodnight, Natasha,” he replied softly. The click indicated the call ended, then his name disappeared from the screen. I let out a sigh, my fingers running across the glass. Two more days. That was all I had to wait until I saw him again. I was a good girl and did as he requested on Thursday, and I was halfway through Friday when a deep voice pulled me from my bubble of concentration.

“Hardly rogues, but who can say with stupid barbarians? Let us hope their brethren fall as easily when the time comes to meet them on the battlefield.” The dead were arranged, taken note of and hastily prepared for a mass pyre. This practice ate up much time in the light of the moon. The night deepened. As they approached the valley, the scouts spoke of in their reports. Ralta joined Malitus in the front of the Legion. The soldiers had stopped and in the distance, beyond the great valley, something moved in the night. Malitus wondered, “Ralta, pray tell, is all that beyond the valley? It looks like a vast caterpillar rolling away.”
