When The Night Falls Novels & Stories

The lights in the dorm of the 6th floor, Room 19 were on, even when it was 2AM. Of course, this wasn't an unusual feat for roommates, Moon Cho-ae and Kim Young-mi, with the latter pulling her infamous all-nighters to maintain her ranking.

Tonight was meant to be a night of victory. I closed my eyes, drawing in a long shaky breath. At a distance, the wolf howled. Not because it was a full moon, but because a hero had fallen.

Anushka stepped to the door. There is no possibility of Manorama waking up. He surrendered and opened the door. There was a slight noise while lowering the hood but Manorama did not notice it. It's dark outside. At this time, the new moon is about to descend. The blackest night of the year. On this night all the ghosts come down to earth. Anushka's whole body got prickly. Somehow, after breaking the door, he jumped down to the yard and reached the wire fence. After jumping past it in the usual manner, Anushka stood on the dew-wet grass and quickly looked at their quarters.

"The moon looks delicious tonight." "It's... It's still sunset..." "I wasn't talking about that moon." A cry of despair greeted the fall of night.

“Seven nights,” Kai Lennox said, voice low and rough as he flipped the last lock on the service door at 11:47 p.m. sharp. The rooftop bar was theirs alone again—lights dimmed to a sultry amber glow, rain sheeting down the glass walls in silver curtains, the city sprawled out far below like a glittering sea of neon and steel. “One full week of you showing up like clockwork, fucking me stupid, and leaving me sore for my entire shift the next day. Through the trees, I could see the faint lights of lanterns burning along the ridgeline. The road curved toward the valley, toward the Pack and a father that had called me weak and used me. Behind me, the caravan fell silent, as if they, too, were holding their breath. With Ruby’s fire burning low and steady in my chest, I led my people into the valley of Nightfall. Nightfall had always lived up to its name. The forest swallowed the last of the sun before it touched the valley. The air smelled of the same pine and rain, but the silence was different.

The night air outside was cool and crisp, stars scattered across the inky sky. When they arrived, the bonfire was already in full swing. Flames crackled and danced in the middle of the clearing, casting golden light across the crowd of laughing teenagers. Some stood in circles roasting marshmallows on sticks; others sat on logs, chatting over drinks. Music pulsed from a portable speaker nearby, blending with the sound of waves crashing against the distant shore. Ava pulled the car over and turned off the engine. The girls stepped out, instantly hit by the warmth of the fire.

‘Soft the drowsy hours are creeping, Hill and dale in slumber sleeping, I my loved ones' watch am keeping, All through the night.’ Listening to the soft, loving voice, Nox finally stopped fighting his tiredness. “Goodnight, my love.”

That way, we all share the same blood and strengthen our bond with the moon goddess. “Before you tell me you deserve a 2-months break, I want you to know that this is important”, he paused waiting for me to speak but I did not so he continued, “The Nightshade Pack have sent another invitation again, to join their pack ceremony again, words are out there that they want to form an alliance with us”. He took another paused and I tilted my head slightly, furrowing my eyebrows. I’ve heard of the Nightshade pack but I’ve never been there, the Crescent Pack never visits other pack, whenever a neighboring pack need help, they come to us for help and we offer them. We’ve also never formed alliance wi

Kai, age 10 The night had fallen thick and heavy over the A****n, a darkness so profound it seemed to devour the world. But tonight, an undercurrent of tension thrummed beneath the familiar sounds, setting Kai's nerves on edge.
