The Alpha's World Claimed Me
Unable to handle the agonizing silence any longer, I decided I had to find Novel and talk things out with her properly.
I rushed out of the pack house, climbed into my car, and drove straight into the human world toward Novel's apartment building. I took the stairs two at a time, breathless by the time I reached her door. I pressed the doorbell. Silence. I knocked loudly, calling her name. Still, no answer.
Just as a cold wave of dread began to settle in my stomach, my phone vibrated violently in my hand.
It was an unknown number. I initially ignored it, but the caller dialed back immediately without giving up. I swiped the screen and brought the phone to my ear.
