She grabs the phone from her aunt's hand, feeling a mix of fear and confusion. Hurrying out of the house, Rose clutches the phone tightly, her gaze fixated on it. Her heart pounds in her chest as the phone begins to ring persistently. Each ring sends a jolt of anticipation and anxiety through her. Finally, summoning her courage, she answers the call, her voice trembling, "Hello?"

Letting out a soft groan, I squeezed my eyes shut, trying my best to shake the feeling off, but all that did was trap me deeper inside it. I was lying on my side, staring blankly at the pillowcase, when a sudden, sharp sound sliced through the silence. A ring. Slowly, I rolled over and looked. It was from Noah’s phone. For a moment all I did was stare at it. The screen lit up, vibrating gently on the wooden surface. On the fourth ring, I reached out and picked it up. “...Hello?” My voice came out small. I cleared my throat and tried again. “Hello?”

On a Saturday morning, Eloise was jolted awake by the sound of her ringtone. Sharon's voice chimed through the phone like silver bells, teasing lightly, "Lou, the sun's practically burning your butt, and you're still in bed! I leaned back in my chair, one leg crossed over the other, letting the night unfold as it always did. At least until my phone rang. I glanced at the screen before answering. For some reason, I already knew… this wouldn’t be good news. “Yes. What is it?” “Sir… I’m sorry, but we have a problem.”

I closed my eyes, about to jump off a building, when an ill-timed phone ringtone blared. On the other end of the phone came a voice that I couldn't be more familiar with. It was my own voice. "Don't jump, Jack Sterling."

~ Kring kring kring ~ Nica's phone rings in her pocket. She wiped her hands before shoving her hand, pulling it. I watched her as she knitted her brows, reading the caller. She swipes the screen, putting the phone in her ears. She yes me and I nod at her, telling that she can answer it for a while.
