The Widow’s Contract

The Widow’s Contract

Baby, if you are reading this, I failed to keep you far enough away. Do not believe any Cain man who says the cage is for your safety. But if Teddy is still alive in him, make him sing. Violet’s breath left her. Theodore went utterly still. The room seemed to listen. Then, from the cassette recorder inside the drawer, Adelaide’s song began to play.

Dream Mate

Dream Mate

I am stuck in a bad dream, and watching this isn’t helping. As much as I didn’t want to believe what I saw, my heart stopped when Crista started to hum and softly sing. She wasn’t singing just any song. She’s singing my favorite song. The song my dad used to sing when I was a boy. “Close your eyes. Have no fear. The monster’s gone. He’s on the run. And your daddy’s here.” Crista gulped a little as Katrina looked at her like I was crazy. “It’s his favorite song. His dad would sing it when he was little,” She explained.

All of this authors stories are honestly great, but the personality of Tiberius was truly so well written! Super funny, yet sexy, and also endearing etc. Extremely good job author - so excited for more! :)

This book is worth the read even though I found Tiberius to be annoyingly funny, I still enjoyed this book and the journey of him and Katrina coming together and succeeding in getting out. Every chapter Thales was in was so touching.

Cruel Heart

Cruel Heart

“I haven't seen the boredom yet. - I say calm down. — Wait for the choir to start singing... — Silvério says. He sits by her side, just stares at the group on the bridge. *** Hell, I never thought I'd say this, but... : They were right. The song is almost sleepy, a slow song where nobody dances, they just face the group singing and playing a song that represents Jane's past, as she said. Oh, and the song only has one phrase every thousand notes... We are standing in front of the side of the mansion, where most of the trees are. Leaves fall in every breeze, and the music has been flowing for two hours now. I feel Kaanadan nudge my back and I stare at him, watching him jerk his head away. I wa

The last omega

The last omega

Kevin redraws the ward lines in ash and chalk, slow and precise, his lips moving with words I don’t quite hear. I sing. I don’t know the song until it pours out of me. It’s a low, small melody, the kind mothers probably hum in kitchens, the kind I never heard in my own life. The tree listens. Or I decide she does, because deciding is all I have left. The fruit trembles. “It’s okay,” I tell her, voice breaking. “It’s okay, little one. We’re here. Take what you need. Take from me, if you must.”

Seasmoke Friends

Seasmoke Friends

Gaze only for Jenny, he leaned against the wall as she cued the next song. This one was more upbeat. A little Imagine Dragons meets Goo Goo Dolls. She sang about dreams and the wayward Carolina sea pulling hope into the abyss. Her perfect lips hugged the mic, her half-mast lids proving she was lost in the music. Her fingers strummed the guitar like a lover and my breath caught again. Part eviscerated, part turned-on, I hung on her every note. And when she was finished, not a person was in their seat.

The Mermaid Princess Rejects the Alpha

The Mermaid Princess Rejects the Alpha

That day, sunlight filtered through the sea, casting dappled patterns across the water. Hovering at the heart of the coral formations, I drew in a deep breath and started singing. My song flowed through the water, pure and clear, each note touching hearts. Not far away, Drake floated in silence as he listened. His eyes were filled with warmth and admiration. My voice spread through every corner of the coral reefs. In no time, schools of fish gathered around me. It was as if they, too, had fallen under its spell. When the final note faded, I turned to look at Drake, my eyes glimmering with emotion.

Most of the water had frozen over. There were only a few shallow cracks where the stream still sloshed over the ice and I stared blankly at those small openings.

Satisfying Her Darkest Fantasies

Satisfying Her Darkest Fantasies

She swallowed the puddle of drool forming in her mouth. Carter hadn’t noticed her. He was working an enormous chunk of greenish clay, adding smaller blobs. She couldn’t see his face, but she could hear him singing along with the radio. She smiled. Who would’ve thought he could carry a tune? Keith Urban had nothing to worry about, but Velma might have a new contender for the open mic contest next Friday night.

As I look at my year in review, this author and book collection has been monumental in reigniting my hunger for reading. I can't track most of the books from this app easily for my year end count but in my heart this book means the most. I wish I could buy a printed version of each of these. .........

Only up to the first 3 stories...and I loved them! I wondered why the book was so big but it's broken down with several stories so when I get time, I'll read them accordingly. Pretty well written/edited and certain to make you desire more than you can handle.

Just Got Lucky Series

Just Got Lucky Series

I cleared my throat, “Anyways this song is called You!" As Silas started singing his part, the entire audience was lighting their phones and glow sticks up. The whole arena was filled with lights as they were swaying along with the music. Lucius started singing his part and it transformed the entire stadium into a bit more intimate. It was a beautiful night and I enjoyed every bit of it because I was going to see Lindy tomorrow. 'Like water in the desert Impossible to find You found me when I was broken Put me back together, gave me life

How To Sing - Feisty Series (3 of 5)

How To Sing - Feisty Series (3 of 5)

None of my brothers said a word, likely all holding their breath like me. She started to sing, a slight rasp to her voice similar to Jude. But not Jude. More … soulful. Lyrics that fit her circumstances almost, since as she sang I felt her pain. I felt her pouring herself into it. When it was over she went right into “Midnight Special,” by CCR. Again with the same profound sense of having lived it. That’s what Feisty’s lyrics were. They were us, raw and real. Except our recent album bullshit but it is what it is.
