Their eyes met, and for the first time, he saw something raw in her expression—something vulnerable.
“Sienna…” he whispered, his voice barely audible.
She pulled away. Not harshly, but deliberately. “Go home, Ethan,” she murmured. “Forget this ever happened.”
And just like that, she disappeared inside, leaving him standing alone under the dim hallway lights, drowning in the weight of his own foolish confession. He let out a shuddering breath, staring at her door as if willing it to open again.
But it didn’t.
