Leah shouts my name as we’re thrown sideways, her body wrapping around mine. The carriage flips, glass shattering. My shoulder smashes against the wall before we finally slam to a stop. For a heartbeat, everything goes still, then the growls start. I push the broken door open and stumble out. Around us, the fae guards are already fighting, their glowing swords slicing through the air. But the attackers are fast, too fast. Black-eyed wolves pour from the trees in perfect formation. They don’t look like rogues as they normally look. They move with purpose, almost like soldiers.

Screams erupted. Xander dove next to Chloe. A rogue pack member lunged at her—dagger met metal. Nightmare smile appeared. I barreled into the fray. One attacker fell beneath slash and roar. Another lunged behind Chloe. I yanked her back. The blade glanced mine. Metal rang. I pivoted. One down. Another rose from the crowd—silver cloak peeking behind.
