The Pack's Dragon
Connery glanced between her and Fatima, who had paused in her task watching Meguitte.
Fatima bent over the body and placed her cheek on his chest. “There is no heartbeat, and no breath,” she said. “He is most certainly dead.”
“And yet…” Meguitte turned the hand back over and looked at the exit wound through the back of the hand. “Perhaps it was healing during the interim between injury and death?” She speculated, more to herself than to her companions.
“That is possible,” Fatima agreed.
“Does the hand look different to you?”
“I don’t know,” Fatima replied. “I did not see it when they arrived. The dark dragon brought him down, whilst I tended to Harry.”
