His Forbidden Flower
Every trace of amusement vanished from his face, replaced by a chilling darkness.
“Put it down, Claire.” His deep voice was calm, but the warning beneath it was unmistakable. Claire shook her head frantically.
“No! Stay back, you creep... you fucking monster!”
That was the final straw.
With a desperate cry, she charged at him, swinging the candleholder with all her strength. Adrian effortlessly sidestepped the blow. Before she could recover, his hand shot out, wrapping firmly around her wrist.
Her eyes widened.
“I said stop, Claire,” he growled, the last thread of his patience snapping. He yanked her toward him, and she collided hard with his chest. But she refused to give up.
