White tile floors, cream walls, dark furniture, everything was flawless and beautiful. Inside felt safe, heck I felt a shiver fall down my spine. “You like it don’t you,” Medaline asked with a knowing smile. “Come on, let’s go to my room,” she said, waving me over from her spot on the brown steps of the staircase.

Everywhere I looked, there were traces of red wolves. Tall wooden shelves lined the walls, stretching almost to the ceiling, each one packed tight with books. Some were bound in cracked leather, their spines faded and peeling. Others looked newer, but no less important. The air carried that dry, familiar scent of paper and age, like stories had been breathing in here for decades, waiting for someone to listen. My eyes drifted to the walls.

"Well like your gamma told you I have a friend, my best friend who doesn't hide anything from me and happens to be a werewolf. Don’t you pay attention?" Taking in a deep breath, I pushed the door open before stepping into the room that was wide enough to fit an entire apartment inside. Jace's home office was spacious but I dare say, not as spacious as Darren's. There was a huge bookshelf that stood proudly at the end of the room, a file cabinet with one of the compartments ajar. Modern walls were sleek white and I imagined how it would feel against my fingertips. White lights glared down from the ceiling illuminating the room and keeping away the darkness that dominated the sky.

Liam put down the glass and took the black envelope, then greeted him and walked out the door, leaving him nothing but a whistle in the air. When he was alone, he stood up and went to the large book-shelf on the right side of his office. He looked at his watch, twisting a button on, and then he returned his gaze to the bookshelf that was slowly opening. He was exposed to the narrow passage that only one person could enter. However, it is narrow, every corner is bright. The walls, ceiling, and floor are painted white. It looks like a dark stone placed on a shiny white cloth.

“Their membership was revoked and they were kicked out. A black leather chair sat behind it. The desk was immaculate. Several stacks of papers were arranged in perfect order, each pile squared neatly at the corners. Thick folders rested in a silver tray, labeled and well organized. To the right was an enormous bookshelf stretched from floor to ceiling. Shelf after shelf was packed with books; business journals, law textbooks, biographies, financial reports, and novels with leather-bound covers. Every book stood in a perfectly straight line. It wasn't as big as the one we had in Porthove but it was sizable enough. The room itself was dimly lit, with high vaulted ceilings and shelves that seemed to stretch up to the heavens. The shelves were packed with books, some of them so old and worn that their covers had faded into obscurity. Others were newer, with bright, colorful covers that caught the eye.
