She wiped it away, her expression returning to indifference. “Layla!” Mr. Xander shouted after her, but William was already pushing her forward. The moment their figures disappeared down the hall, Mike finally released his grip on Mr. Xander. Then, with a hint of satisfaction, he shoved him hard. Mr. Xander stumbled back several steps before landing flat on his backside with a loud thud. “Serves you right.” Mike spat on the ground beside him before turning and walking away. Mr. Xander groaned, rubbing his lower back as he struggled to his feet, his expression dark with anger.

Not wanting to look weak I force myself to quickly shake his hand. "It's good to see you too. This is my Beta, Xander." I say and Xander steps forward shaking his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Xander, and this is my son mike. I'll be passing the pack down to him when he turns 21. The little shit's not ready yet!" He says giving him a glare. Mike rolls his eyes before extending his hand for each of us to shake. I get a weird vibe from him but shake his hand anyways. Shit, I get a weird vibe from both of them!
