Diana's pov. I am utterly broken by Sarah's words as I run off in the wind towards my car. I am both angry and sad, it's getting late but I do not want to go home. I felt the urge to burn something I turn on my car as I zoom off angrily! The wind seems to be angry too as it blows angrily. From the chaos and dust my eyes catch the lights on a bar. I had no alcohol at home and I needed to drown Sarah's words that kept replaying in my head. It wouldn't hurt to grab a few cups at the bar and head home even if it rained. I had my car with me, so I thought. I pulled over as I parked my car. Grabbing my purse I stormed out of the car into the club.

I didn’t want to pull on my wings because I really liked the hoodie I was wearing, and my wings would make mincemeat of it. I caught her eyes and all I could see was anger and hatred boiling in them. I pushed with my aura so hard my hands felt like fire against her arms. She started making a sound that was close to pain and then suddenly Cash pulled us apart. I was now standing behind Cash as he faced the clawing wolf himself. “Stop it, before you get hurt!” Cash growled at her. She immediately stopped and started sobbing as she quickly rubbed the burn marks on her arms that my hands had left behind.

They flare on either side of me and when I stand, the points arch to encompass a wide scope of the ground, causing the others to back away in shock. Because I have wings. Wings of fire.

A large pair of wings made from fire had sprouted from his back sometime in the clutter and he was flapping them wildly. With every flap he spread air to the already raging fire below him. I instantly forged a staff from ice and sent it hurtling through the air towards his wings. I thought because it was made of more ice than the shards it would withstand, but It melted before it even reached his wings.

My wings burned as they tried to unfurl, but something in me broke, something I had never felt before. It wasn’t just pain. It was wrong. Fire. It should have been fire. But when I opened my mouth to unleash it, to incinerate the traitor standing before me, nothing came. No heat, no embers, no raging inferno to swallow him whole—just air. Just… nothing.
