“Are you my boyfriend or my bodyguard?” He held his ring in front of me, my eyes were magnetized by the intricate carvings on it. “Guardian angel, remember?” He straightened up on his seat, and in a louder than necessary voice, he said, “And unlike the last one you had, I have a sword, not a halo. And my wings are black, not white. It’s time they realized who they will have a problem with the next time they hurt even a single hair in your body!” My eyes widened at him. He took my hand in his again, and then he bent down to kiss my fingers once again. “I love you, angel.” He didn’t even whisper that. I was sure many people around us heard everything he said.

I felt relief, gratitude, and love for Luthias as I watched Charles crumple to the floor. Seeing the fate of their leader, vampires started retreating. I’d almost settled the adrenaline from the battle back down in my veins when a powerful burst of energy knocked Luthias to the ground. I have never seen such beautiful wings in my entire life. His crimson-red wings are described as metallic with each feather sharp like a precision blade. Each feather/blade has the top part crimson with the hairs or fibres sticking out of the sides, while the end of the blade itself is black. I really envy him. Why does he have to have such beautiful wings? Why is mine not like his? I cried in my mind and again looked up at him. He was waiting for me to go up. So I spread my wings too and flew up to complete the rest of the fight.

I said, accidentally cutting myself on the pages. The page seemed to soak up my blood. Suddenly, the pages started turning until they landed on one sudden page, titled, Queen of the End Times. “What class do you have first?” Wilkes asked both Trisha and Harold. “Flight Erudition known casually as FE,” Trisha responded. Wilkes eyes widened. “Do you know what that means?!” he asked, barely able to keep his excitement to himself. “No,” Harold drawled. “Trisha will be taught to fly using a broom!” he said, louder than he intended to. “I won't exactly be taught to,” Trisha said. “What do you mean?”

Knox’s POV Friday night hit different. He grabbed his favorite wings fried hard and fries extra crispy, buffalo style and headed home. He dropped the bag on the coffee table, kicked off his shoes, and let the silence of his apartment wrap around him like an old hoodie, comfortable, but worn out. He turned on some jazz. Having said that, they pushed me along and began leading me toward the stairs. Mom rushed after us, weeping as she clung to my hand. "You can't take him away! He just finished his exams and is supposed to start training as a pilot in September! He's going to attend Aeronautical Command University and fly planes! Please don't take him away!" I could feel my eyes welling up with tears the moment I saw Mom drop to her knees and plead before the police officers. I helped her to her feet and said, "You shouldn't do this, Mom. I need you to listen to me—I'm completely innocent.
