When she walked into the main part of the building, she gasped at its beauty. It had a high, gothic vaulted ceiling. You could see the rafters which were made of old wood, giving it character. The windows were all stained glass and made beautiful hues where the sun was shining through. There was a ring of roses on each window in different colors. There were little crosses embedded in each rose. There were doves in flight on some of the windows. The floors were old hardwood but had a beautiful, polished look to them. The floor could be for chairs or for dancing. There was a platform at the end of the room.

Pushing me down the route it wants me to take. Jim was panting and his lungs were beginning to burn. He wasn’t in the best shape and the running was taking its toll. The door just under the platform we’re standing on slide open and I watch as Kevin and his father are pushed into the maze. Kevin the weak spotless man I’ve now realized him to be quickly turns around and starts pounding on the door he was pushed through.

He walked toward the edge of the pier, staring at the restless water below. “Those tunnels were never meant to protect Jonathan Wellspring.” The bodyguards listened carefully. “They were designed as a maze.” “A maze?” one asked. Patrick chuckled. “A beautiful one.” His cold eyes reflected the harbor lights. “And every maze has only one exit.” He smiled. “They’re walking toward it.” Meanwhile… The heavy metal hatch closed above them with a deafening clang. Darkness swallowed everything. Ashley instinctively tightened her grip around Dominic as Marcus switched on a small tactical flashlight.
