Under his expectant gaze, I shook my head. “It’s gone.” The last wish was gone. Just moments ago, I traded my life for my final wish. I tightened my grip on the sacred token in my hand and whispered his name, “Alex… I’m dragging you down with me!” He did not hear that part as he was answering a call from the hospital. He grabbed me and rushed to the hospital. “Valentina’s delivering, Lilian! Wish for her and the baby’s safety now!” Valentina Wilson was Alex’s childhood sweetheart. She claimed the baby in her womb was the reincarnation of an angel and that it needed the blessing of a mermaid to survive the birth.

I make it short, and he looks at me through narrowed eyes, confused, but I decide not to explain my crazy interaction with whoever that was, but do what I brought him here to do, and take the checkbook from my bag. “Tell me your name, please,” I request as I fill in the other fields, including the amount. “Why?” He asks suspiciously, making me smile. “Because I want to make your second biggest wish come true,” I answer as I look at him expectantly, and he opens his mouth, then closes it, not sure if he should talk, or if he can. “J-James Wilson.” He stutters in a shaky voice, probably realizing what I’m doing, and after I finish, I rip the check and give it to him.

The waitress could feel her heart racing when she came to the table and sensed the atmosphere. Brendan got up. “I’m going to the washroom.” The waitress served the dessert and said, “Try it and let me know if the sweetness level is not to your preference, miss. We’ll get you a new one.” “Thank you.” Deirdre did not have much of an appetite, but she still expressed her gratitude and took two bites. The waitress stayed as if she was worried that her action earlier would cause displeasure to Deirdre and Brendan. She explained in a pleasant, soothing tone, “I’m sorry for earlier.”

We can go back to how things were before the wedding?” “I—I forgive you.” “Oh, thankGod, Jade. You have no idea how happy I am.” She lets out a laugh filled with relief as she steps closer, her arms opening wide for a hug. I take a step back, intercepting her.

I asked. "I don't know," Yaze said. "Come on, say it. I might fulfill your wish," I asked looking at her eyes that were trying to look through my eyes seeking for a reason. "You will? You won' get angry whatever my wish be?" she softly said. I nodded as confirmation. "Can I go home and pay my loan installment?" Yaze exclaimed shyly her wish. "Alright, one wish going home be granted," I announced. She gasped with wide open eyes.

Aiden looked at me like I was crazy, but pulled another candle out of a box and put it in the cheesecake for me. I smiled. “Thank you. Now I can have two wishes.” “Piper, I don’t think it works that way.” “It does now,” Jonas interjected. “Thank you, Jonas.” Jonas lit the second candle and I blew both out. At this moment, Alex could feel a beam of golden light, which was wish power entering his golden core. Alex glanced at Beatrice. He subconsciously went into his mind to brush on the wish power inside him.
