"But this sky rivals it." Anna looked up too, just in time to see a small blaze streak across the sky. Her gasp was involuntary. "A shooting star," Angus whispered, turning to her with a grin. "Ye have tae make a wish." Anna smiled, too. "So do you." He nodded in mock seriousness. "Aye. We both have tae make a wish. It's the only proper thing." She looked back to the stars and sighed. Since Sawyer had died, she'd only had one wish--to be able to take back the angry words that were the last ones she'd spoken to him. When she looked back at Angus, he was watching her carefully.

Nobody that they could confide in. Nobody to ask questions, or answer their worries. They had no one. And they didn’t want to risk losing anyone ever again. Not this time. This time, it had already been far too long since someone had spoken their truth in front of them. And this time, they had found each other again, after two years of searching and praying and hoping for a sign. Two years wasted on a single wish. One wish that would never be granted, as if wishing upon a star for something impossible was pointless. As if wishing upon the sky could magically cure their problems. As if wishing upon the moon could magically heal their skin. As if wishing upon the wind could make the rain stop.

I added, my heart racing with the possibilities. Her eyes became wide with astonishment, *You'd use your wish for me?* she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, holding her tiny hands over her heart as if to contain her emotions. I nodded, and her face lit up with hope. "So, what kind of mate would you like?" I asked, my curiosity piqued, and she thought for a little while, her brow furrowed in concentration. Then, she flew close to me, her wings fluttering rapidly, and whispered her heart's desire in my ear. I smiled, my heart warming with joy, and said, "Ok, let's try this and see!"

I was about to go inside my room but a shooting star passed by. I was shocked for a while but managed to close my eyes and wrapped my hands together. I'm not into wishing stars but this time, I'll try. I won't lose anything, though. “Universe, my only wish is to have someone beside me. Someone that will fill this empty space in me that no one can do. Even just for a short period of time. This time that I feel like the huge world for me is suffocating, give me a home that I can run to whenever I want. I just need someone for the meantime.”

What have I discovered? There he was looking at the illumination with complete wonder. He wonders why the hall is like that, is this mysterious? he thinks but since he has never been a fan of superstition and the fact that he is a science student lets him conclude it must be some electrical wiring causing everything. He tries to open it but doesn’t know how to, it’s all flat lying on the stone table. He looks on the glass, it’s written, ‘Just wish’. Could this book be important, kept here?

"Am I able to see what will happen with him and me?" She quickly shook her head. "I shouldn't," she whispered. "Instead, I wish him happiness; I wish that he would achieve what he wants. I wish that I could be a capable helper for him." In the middle of her wishes, the book felt a little lighter in her hands. Slowly, it levitated, opening up a page on its own. She was amazed as she read the title of that chapter. "Enchantments," she read out loud. There were a couple of enchantments written on it, but she did not manage to read any of them since she read the very first line.

I sighed. I turned to the first story and started reading. I read story after story. Some were interesting, some were familiar, some were bizarre. Then, more than halfway through the book, I found it. The very first line read, "There once was a young girl. Her wolf had no name." It was titled, 'Child of Stars', kind of fitting since my Dad's wolf is Starfire. My wolf chimed in with her usual pessimism, 'It won't help.'

I admire his skill to create fire – maybe…maybe he could teach me some day. Any way , I watch him some more as I am unable to take my eyes off of him. He then plops down , a bit away from the fire , and lays his back against a leap of hay that stands against the wooden wall. He places his one arm behind his head and the other lays on the ground…and that is it…He just sleeps there , with his eyes on the stars. Though it may sound uncomfortable , he looks absolutely comfortable and at peace right there where he is. I envy him – though I have this beautiful room with comfortable night wear and a comfortable bed , I envy him. I wish that I were able to spend my night like the way he does – I wis

All round and crispy-looking.” He rubbed a hand over his face And then….there it was…a streak of silver shot across the night sky, quick and delicate, like the universe blinking. “Oh my goodness!” I gasped, flinging my arms dramatically toward the sky. “It’s a wishing star! Make a wish!” I clasped my hands together tightly, my eyes closing with theatrical flair as I tilted my face to the heavens. My voice dropped into something quiet, something almost reverent. “Please,” I whispered, “take me away from this messed up life.”
