Sophie rolled her eyes, but warmth bloomed in her chest. They lay back on the blanket, staring up at the vast sky. The stars were faint but visible, their soft glow battling against the city lights. Sophie found herself tracing the constellations in her mind, remembering how she used to do the same as a child, back when she thought wishes on stars actually came true. Jake’s voice broke the silence. “Did you ever do that thing where you wish on a star?” She smiled faintly. “All the time.” “And did any of them come true?”

We sat in silence for a few moments, the only sound being the crickets chirping in the distance. Then, suddenly, another shooting star streaked across the sky. Jayden pointed, excitement rising in his voice. "Look! I think it's another!" I widened my eyes as I spotted the star. "Make a wish, fast!" I urged. Without hesitation, we intertwined our hands, closed our eyes, and made a silent wish. The moment felt magical, as if the universe was conspiring to make our dreams come true. As we opened our eyes, Jayden turned to me with a curious smile. "What did you wish for?" he asked.

Well he told Anthony, but not me and Amara. I was sitting in the kitchen at the bar, eating a salad when Anthony came up behind me and squeezed my shoulder. We had gotten so close over the years that touching each other was a joy. I smiled and put down my fork. I turned towards him, making his hand rap around my shoulder in a hug-like position. I laid my head to his chest. He may not have been warm, but the softness of his skin made up for it. “If you could make a wish for your birthday, Asoka, what would it be?” I paused, running my hand across his unbutton suit, feeling his button up shirt under my hand.

It was the time when he saw a meteor shower. A wishing star whom they thought would make someone wish to come true. 'Dear stars~ I wish to have a happy family. Mother and father who loves me very much, and also a cute and very nice dog who will accompany me. That is all please make my wish come true' He chuckled as he remembered those exact words that he said when he was just a little.

Although, I must admit that finding out I was your first actually felt surreal.” I rested my head contentedly against his shoulder. Then I looked at the stars above us. The skies were clear, the stars were shining brightly. I blinked and I thought I saw a star flash through the skies. They said that if you see a shooting star, you should make a wish. I already knew that wishes come true but I could not ask for more at this moment. When I closed my eyes, all I thought was, Please make this last forever.

Seven shooting stars appeared before her and it was the most magnificent sight ever. ''Seven shooting stars? Haha, it is unbelievable that seven shooting stars would appear now but that means I get seven wishes right? Hell! I don't care anymore. However....'' ''SEVEN WISHES! Then hear me Gods above, these are my wishes……'' Luna shouted out her wishes and screamed to her heart's content. When all her wishes had been said out loud and clear, she turned around and without a moment's hesitation, she leaned back with her eyes never closing for even a moment, and with a smile on her face, she stared at the sky while falling down the bridge.

I don’t know, this is my first time being here. “I know a spot. Follow me.” I look at Theo and forgot he is from this neck of the woods, taking his hand as Fen takes my other one. We walk towards the trees and follow Theo to a clearing. Moving to the centre, I lay down on the grass with Theo on one side and Fen on the other. Taking a deep breath, I look up at the inky black sky. The stars are scattered like twinkling fairy lights. They are always so beautiful. “Oh, look a shooting star, quick, make a wish.” I exclaim like a little kid at Christmas. I hear chuckles from both sides of me as I close my eyes and make my wish.

“Look at it! All round and crispy-looking.” He rubbed a hand over his face And then….there it was…a streak of silver shot across the night sky, quick and delicate, like the universe blinking. “Oh my goodness!” I gasped, flinging my arms dramatically toward the sky. “It’s a wishing star! Make a wish!” I clasped my hands together tightly, my eyes closing with theatrical flair as I tilted my face to the heavens. My voice dropped into something quiet, something almost reverent. “Please,” I whispered, “take me away from this messed up life.”
