The augmented wolves hesitated, their glowing eyes flickering as they followed their handlers into the shadows. When the clearing fell silent, Vivi dropped to her knees beside Lexa once more. Her hands trembled as they brushed against Lexa’s fur, her breath catching in uneven gasps. "You’re okay," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "You’re okay." Ravi slammed the door behind him and was startled to find Adrian floating by the window, his wings flapping, hands folded across his chest, wearing a smug expression. He knew all too well that this creature was the one responsible for the chaos Ravi had just experienced. Mathis gave a whistle that echoed through the corridors and foyer of WitchFall. Six large men were summoned by the call. Mathis nodded toward Udora. Linking his hands behind his back as though he were hapless man, and not the one commanding whatever horrible fate he was condemning her to. “No. No! Me! I’m the witch!” I shouted as I clawed at his sleeve. Shouting loud enough I could get everyone’s attention. Mathis looked at the Mayor. “Don’t listen to it. It’s that one's witchery.” He nodded toward Udora meaningfully. "I’ll correct her."

Valerie placed her palm on my face, her purple eyes peering into the depths of my eyes, sending warmth to my chest. Gwen and the witches began chanting, and soon Valerie joined them. I heard the low echoes of the witches rise beyond a whisper. Their chants echoed in the walls of my soul. My breathing became slow, and my heartbeat lowered. I could hear the faint drumming of my heart. I started to feel my eyelashes grow heavy and tired. A burning sensation spreads around my body, starting from my chest to every bone in my body. The witches' chants began to echo within the walls of my mind. I felt myself being pulled away into obscure darkness.
