Adrian was still screaming, smiling as he imagined himself winning the case.
“Wait,” one of the council’s alphas called out, stopping him in his tracks, “These are almost all statements from your own wolves.”
Adrian bristled at being stopped, but he took a deep breath and answered, “Yes, because they are the witnesses,”
Blade snorted under his breath, “That’s very convenient.”
Technically, in human terms, Blade’s words would be considered a whisper. But we were wolves, and that meant our hearing were all sharp enough to hear his words.
