I’d already painted a target on my back, and the main person who wanted to shoot at it was the bloody future Alpha of the Silver Moon pack. My birth father even wrote a dedicated letter, talking all about the rankings in a pack. From my understanding, the rankings and titles can differ in some packs, but ultimately they are pretty much the same. Within the hierarchy, there are about fifteen different rankings and titles a wolf could possess. Some are bigger than others. He detailed them all for me, but he focused most details on the ones I’d likely hear others talk about or even ones I’d potentially come across: Omega, Delta, Gamma, Beta, Luna, and Alpha.

I could feel her anxiety as she met my hard gaze with her wide eyes. Nobody knows my wolf's name except for me. They call him Invictus, Death Claws but that's not his real name. Only I know what is he called. Usually, alphas don't reveal their wolves' names as revealing them can make us susceptible to evil magics. The seasoned witches only need a name to cast a spell on. It's not a law but a necessary precaution.

His eyes widen and I hear both Dean and Issac cursing to themselves, I nearly laugh, but I keep a straight face staring at Gunner’s eyes. His lips slowly curve into a wide smile, him taking the hand I’m extending and shaking it. “Deal, Peaches.” I smile and turn back around. I glance over at Issac and Dean, “What are your wolves names?” They seem grumpy now, but answer me anyway, “Niko.” Dean answers and Issac says, “Milo.” I nod smiling at them acting like children. I just know they did some sort of game to see who got me as a partner. This is what they get for losing.

And I sure as shit don’t want to listen to it. “You can call me Whiskey” I said cautiously. “Whiskey?” he asked. His surprise is warranted. It’s a dumb nickname, but it’s better than the actual scientific name the hunters gave me. Viski Gol’f Dva (WG-02). Otherwise known as, Wolf-Girl Zero-Two. Pretty fucking dumb, and yet perfectly typical of the hunters to be so uncaring as to not even give their creation a name. “Whiskey” I confirmed with a nod of my head. He shrugged and stood up, brushing the dirt from his jeans.

It wasn’t awesome, but it was the best he could do under the circumstances. “Hey, I know what we can do.” Wolf gave them a smile, hoped that it wasn’t terrifying to them. “I ain’t got a clue what your Mom and Dads named you, but I can’t really go on callin’ you ‘hey you’ and ‘baby girl’ and ‘little boy’, right? How’s about I come up with some names for you? Just temporary names, until we get you back to where you belong, which ain’t gonna be too long now, I promise. What do you think?”

Sammy asked, a day to the Council meeting where they too would be attending as the council. “We have a few suggestions from the members. How about I pick from there?” Alaric asked, ruffling through the names provided. ‘STRONG AND MIGHTY’ ‘NIGHT WOLVES’ ‘BLACK MOON’ ‘FREE SHIFTERS ’ ‘ REBELS ’ “Who even came up with these names? Night wolves, really?”Alaric said as he read the names on the crumpled pieces of paper. None of them struck a chord. “Welp we didn't say we were the sharpest tool in the shed… anything will be better than Strong and mighty to be honest.” Kierran said, he too was cringing as he read the other names, not bothering to read out loud.

"Every third wolf is named Luna." "Fine. What's your suggestion?" "Something strong. Traditional. Royal." "Boring, you mean," Kieran says. They start arguing. I keep organizing. Sort tiny socks. Fold onesies. Arrange everything perfectly. "What about Alexander?" Damon suggests. "For a boy. Strong. Classic. Royal." "Alexander Thorne." Kieran tests it. "Not bad. But what if it's a girl?" "Victoria." "Absolutely not. Too stuffy." "You're too stuffy."

" Rex looked at Moon confused. "Yes, your wolf has a name. Kit is the human, Singularis is his wolf. I am Moon and my Wolf is Krynn." Moon revealed.
