Immediately my instinct kicked in and made me think of Lucas. "Lucas" I ran inside without thinking about the wolves "Lucas!" I yelled as people ran past me like few others "Lucas!" some pushed me and made me fall. I kept running until I found Lottie who was hiding under a table. "Lottie!" I yelled, getting her attention. The girl looked at me and signaled for silence, pointing after her above her. There appeared a huge black wolf savoring his tongue, his muzzle was full of blood. The wolf looked at me. I was afraid to take a step because I knew the wolf would follow me.

I stood before the mirror, trembling. “Come out!” I screamed. My voice cracked. “Come out, damn you!” But there was no answer. “You're supposed to be my wolf companion! My protector! How could you, how could you kill him?” My breath came in ragged sobs. “You monster… You coward! Show yourself!” My wolf didn’t speak. I could hear the words floating through the air like insects. The fat serving girl. The omega. Impossible. I turned and found Tyla. She had pushed through from the bridal party entrance, still in her robe with her face twisted into something ugly and furious and entirely un-bridal. She raised her hands, a burst of light erupting from her palms and sending the wolf flying.

Tyla’s breathing became uneven. This was bad. Kyron charged again, but Thane shifted halfway, claws extending, strength multiplying dangerously. Kyron blocked what he could, but it was clear now he could not hold this alone. Tyla closed her eyes briefly. Then she felt it. The wolf inside her. Power rising instantly. When her eyes opened again, silver light burned inside them. And within seconds, her body shifted. Bones cracked. Muscles stretched. Silver fur burst forward.
