As if something was leading her. She skidded to a stop in a small clearing. The air here was different. Still. Charged. In the center stood a massive tree, older than anything she had ever seen. Its trunk was wide, its roots spreading deep into the earth like a throne carved by nature itself. And there— At the base of the tree— Something stood. A wolf. Larger than any wolf Aria had ever seen. Its fur was silver, glowing faintly under the dim light that somehow broke through the canopy above. Its eyes—deep, ancient, and impossibly calm—rested on her with quiet intensity.

One of the wolves shifted into his human form and raised his hands in submission to me as he said, “Luna Willow, we mean no harm. We just have orders to take you back to the packhouse.” My wolf snapped her teeth at him, not wanting to give into these orders, as she began to look for a weakness in their formation around us. Just then she spotted the down tree, and I knew what she was about to do. Without a second of hesitation, she took off running and leaped onto the down tree as she ran up it at an angle and then leaped off the other end of the tree not breaking a stride.

“I don’t understand.” “Kana. Try.” Kana swallowed hard but obeyed. Lifting her hands, she mimicked the motion she’d used before the withered crops. Tree Man then released his hold on the wall. The wolf lunged, a blur of fur and fangs. As it leaped, the air crackled. A dark force engulfed the wolf, clinging to its body. The black particles writhed like living things, burrowing into flesh, devouring muscle and sinew. The wolf collapsed mid-snarl, its form crumbling into bones and ash.

This particular tree has got many branches that are a little high, and if we could get up there, we would be safe. I guess this is the reason why most wolves don’t visit this part of the forest. Because the rogues live here. Or maybe they pass through here. Suddenly, the weaponry in the castle makes sense. The wolf behind us slips on wet stone, giving us some time. I latch onto the tree and immediately start to climb. “Come on!” I yell at Ruelle who is struggling to climb onto the first branch. “It’s too slippery!” She replies, her eyes wide with fear, “He’s going to get me!”

Emerging from behind the trees, the wolf signaled grave trouble, and realization struck me. In a swift response, the wolf lunged at me, throwing me back and pinning me down beneath its weight. Its eyes locked onto mine, emitting a sinister gaze, while its low growls conveyed its intent to harm. Just as it attempted to sink its teeth into my face, it was forcefully pushed away. Scrambling to my feet, I crawled towards the shelter of a large tree, observing Ray stepping between us, determined not to let the wolf harm me. The wolf rose to its feet, emitting grunts and preparing for another attack, while Ray positioned himself as a barrier, protecting me from its aggression.

I mumbled. "No, this is right. Let's go," he replied as if not seeing a gigantic tree in front of us. Is he blind or what?! No way on earth I bump my head on that tree. This wolf really wants to kill me, huh? "I will not go. That tree would kill me." "Come on." I averted my gaze. "I said I won't—fuck!" The wolf just kicked my butt! All I can do is shut my eyes and wait for my demise. But all I felt was a circling pattern which made me want to spit up, and for a few seconds, I found myself standing in a wide field while throwing up under the tree.

Werewolf. My blood turned cold. One of them – the red wolf – was coming straight towards me through the trees. Branches snapped. Leaves rustled. The deep growls of a hungry, angry wolf rumbled through my body. I couldn't see him, but I could hear him, smell him. He would be with me in a moment. And I was out in the open, in my human form, unarmed, completely vulnerable.

Winter snapped. Winter let out another loud growl. Growls seem to echo in the forest. She watched an instant shiver follow through the wolves in front of her as they responded to her growl. See better. Winter smirked. Oak tree, Luke voice came into Waverly’s as the oak tree came in view. Hendrix was already darting right; a large gap between him and the rest of the pack. He wasn't waiting. They were ethier coming with him or not.
