And then we saw her.
She stood at the heart of the chamber where councils were once dominated by glowing sigils and predictive arrays now dark and dismantled.
She was young.
Or she looked young, no older than seventeen, maybe eighteen. Dark hair braided loosely, skin dusted with road and starlight. She wore simple clothes, travel-worn boots, a satchel slung across her back.
No weapons.
No visible power.
And yet the space bent around her, not submissive, curious.
She turned as we entered.
