Some people had already made some sick fan art of the whole ordeal, casting a platinum blonde stranger as Eliza. They weren’t even the worst. The worst had to be the fanfics that had seemingly popped up overnight. I only got through the blurb of one before I had to click out of the site, lest I risk permanently damaging my psyche. When I saw all this, I was a little shocked that I was yet to realise that I hadn’t yet received a scolding call from my mother. But then I checked my phone and remembered I had muted all calls and notifications from her, of which there were many.

If I hadn't had a front-row seat, the allegations that had been flying fast and furiously in the last few days would've seemed like something out of a very poorly written fanfiction. But the fact that only the half of it had been shared with yet more left unsaid was a testament to just how screwed up my life had been in the last five years. When I think about the twists and turns these people had gone through to break us up for their own selfish gain, I find it hard to wrap my head around.
