“Thank you, Luna.” “Start talking,” I command, trying not to breathe. He doesn’t, of course. We walk for what feels like hours through the tight, winding tunnel. I feel an odd feeling that we’re moving downward, somehow going deeper underground. The torchlight begins to bleed with a soft amber glow ahead of us, which is obstructed by Westfall’s body while we navigate the tunnel. But then he steps down, and a massive cavern comes into view, stalactites spiraling from the ceiling of the biggest underground cave I’ve ever seen in my life.

Eva's Pov: And just like that, the room fell silent again — cold, sterile, heavy with the weight of everything unsaid. I could feel it in my gut, a warning that something bad was about to unfold. But exhaustion pressed down on me, and I had no strength left to dwell on it. I let my eyes close, hoping for a brief escape. The door creaked open. Although all living beings are frozen in time for us to escape, the inorganic materials like rocks are still moving about freely. The rocks drop on the staircase chipping away at the ground little by little. The stairs fall into a deep chasm within the Luna mountain.

Then, the digging began. *There must’ve been many more of him to dig so much, because my cave started to shake and rocks began tumbling down around me. Most of the crumbly stiffs were all gone by now, and the ones ones that were still there fell out from between the rocks as dirt began to fall through. First a little, then a lot. Then the roof of my cave began to fall away as I got my first glimpse of the world above. My mouth began to water, probably because I was so hungry, and something starting thumping - hard - inside my chest.
