Mr. Billionaire, At Your Service

Mr. Billionaire, At Your Service

After watching her father mistreat her mother when she was younger, Ophelia promised that she would not to fall for any man. She would keep her heart to herself. But Jeremy Maxwell weaved his way into her pure heart with a lot of promises and shattered it by cheating on her. Left heartbroken, Ophelia started to think that ALL MEN ARE THE SAME. Well, that didn’t last for long as she met Demetrius Valecian. He was a famous, cold and wealthy billionaire in Texas who had a crazy distaste for ladies after what his ex-girlfriend did to him. Their meeting was bumpy and she ended up annoying Demetrius. Typical, right. Some months later, life pushes her into a situation where she had to seek a job at his company. How would she react when she find out that the person she had insulted a few months ago, was going to be her boss? What did Demetrius have in store for her? And why did he keep intimidating her with an evil smirk whenever he saw her? He was not going to let her off the hook. There was no doubt about that.

Say Goodbye to Your Resources

Say Goodbye to Your Resources

At the company banquet, my boyfriend of five years, Lucas Cowan, dropped to one knee and proposed to his first love in front of everyone. I did not cry or make a scene. I stood off to the side, sipped my wine, and wished them well. Afterward, Lucas pulled me aside to explain. "Rebecca's family has the resources I need. Her mother said she would only agree to the partnership if we married." He paused, then added, "Don't worry. Once I get what I need, I'll divorce her and marry you." I smiled and told him, "I understand. The company comes first." In my previous life, I lost control on the spot. I stormed the stage and drove Rebecca out of the company myself. She went straight into the arms of Lucas' biggest rival, and that company skyrocketed overnight. As a result, Lucas locked me in a basement and starved me to death. This time, I wouldn't stand in their way. What Lucas didn't know is that every connection, every deal, and every resource his company had ever relied on was arranged quietly by me through my family's connections. From now on, each time he got close to Rebecca, I would cut off another lifeline, another resource. I wanted to see what his precious company looked like when nothing was left to hold it up.

Your Regret Isn't My Problem

Your Regret Isn't My Problem

My fiancé's older brother was into girls with tiny waists. He wanted to marry my foster sister—the one with the twenty-one-inch waist. Their wedding? Same day Eric and I were supposed to get hitched. When he found out, Eric begged me to swap with Briana. "Lena, it's always been Briana. If your family hadn't found you, she wouldn't have had to play fake heiress, and I wouldn't be stuck with you." I stayed quiet. He kept digging. "Chill. My brother won't even touch you. Once the dust settles, I'll bring you back—as my side piece." Staring at that fake, slimy smile, I felt a little out of it. Last time, I told him no—and still ended up married to him, beaten until I died. Then I woke up. Same day. Same plea from Eric. This time, I handed them exactly what they wanted. "Fine. I'll marry him." Eric lit up like he'd won. Didn't last long. Next thing I knew, he was out in the rain, on his knees, clutching his head, sobbing, begging me to leave his brother and come back.

Frequently Asked Questions

I tried a few of those 'write your destiny' or 'manifest through journaling' exercises last year when I was stuck on a novella. Honestly? Found the whole thing a bit fluffy. The prompts felt like generic self-help repackaged for writers—'visualize your book on the shelf,' 'write a letter from your future Pulitzer-winning self.' It just made me more aware of the gap between the fantasy and the blank page.

What actually helped was much dumber and more concrete. I started keeping a separate document just for ranting about the project. I'd write stuff like 'this character is a plank of wood and I hate him' or 'this plot twist makes no sense, why did I think this was good?' Getting the frustration out in a private, judgment-free zone freed up mental space to then go back and fix the actual problems. The motivation came from solving a specific, annoying puzzle, not from picturing a perfect future.

So maybe the 'destiny' part is a distraction. The motivation is in the craft itself, the small win of untangling a bad sentence.
