He leaned in closer, his breath brushing Zade’s cheek, hot enough to melt whatever resolve remained.
“You kissed me,” Xander reminded him softly.
Zade clenched his fists. “It was an accident.”
“Then why did it feel real?”
Because Zade had panicked. Because his instincts slipped. Because for one cursed second, he wanted the heat, the pressure, the dominance—
He pushed the thoughts away.
“I’m tired,” Zade whispered. “I can’t do this with you.”
Xander eased back one inch but didn’t step away.
