Melanin Diaries: Perfectly Imperfect

For example; Ẹkú ewu ọmọ is a Yoruba dialogue for congratulating a family who has just welcomed a new baby to the world, but the literal meaning, if translated word for word is 'you die dangerous baby'." Mokun burst into laughter even before I was done. "You can not be serious." Her chuckle was music to my ears.

Her mother sighed, wondered how to start this story that left distaste in one's mouth. "Do you know B.B Bakura?" Their faces changed at the supposedly unrelated question the old lady asked. "Have you no eyes?" She asked harshly in Hausa making the recipients of her words flinch. They had eyes, they just had never put that kind of two and two together. "Can you not see that nose Labeebah is carrying around is a replica of that Kanuri boy B.B Bakura?" Labeebah's aunt blinked over and over like a doll, wondering how her sister ever even entangled herself with the current Vice President.

He laughed, "I am. My great grandfather is from Gombe, he moved to Lagos and he married a Yoruba woman as second wife, she gave birth to my grandfather who also married a Yoruba woman. My mom is Yoruba too so you can say I'm half Hausa and half Yoruba." "Can you speak Hausa?" He smiled guiltily, "not really." "Then you're fully a Yoruba man." "I have Hausa blood." He argued. "It's been diluted." "Okay, you win." He said laughing. "You're Hausa right? It's actually obvious." "How? Because I'm too young to be married and the Hausas are known for early marriage." She remembered their first meeting. "Okay I might have been rude to you with that statement and..."

"Lukas, he's in our class." "No, I mean the girl." "That was Sasha Braun and she's weird," Arya answered him. He frowned. "How is she weird?" "Dude, that Sasha doesn't talk at all. It's been too long since anyone heard her voice." Hades then shrugged and bit into his apple. "Trust us, after she screws up with the volleyball coach, she became like that," Arya stated. "They said, she was pregnant and got an abortion." "Hell yeah!" Hades agreed.

And Ophelia saw some truth in his words. "What's your name?" Ophelia inquired, folding her arms across her chest. "Gabe, my lady," "Gabe, you're right." Ophelia observed him for a moment before turning to face him properly, "and what do you have to show me? A bread full of cum, I assume? Since you men tend to slip cum into everything." Gabe scoffed before pointing over at a book that sat a few meters away from them. "A novel?" Excitement took over Ophelia immediately and she rushed to grab the book, it never crossed her mind she would find any book on the ship.

"It is good; we're all clansmen," He paused and looked at both of them slowly before he continued, "But as clans men, who have similar traditions, both of you should know that one cannot just barge into a man's house to claim his jewel of inestimable value, for that is what my daughter, Yemisola, is to me.
