Justin asks, standing still with the needle in place. It’s then that I notice a slight yellow glow emanating from my hands. My eyes widen in horror as I pull them back, holding them up for a moment before tucking them behind my back. This isn’t the first time they’ve felt this way, but this is the brightest I’ve ever seen them glow.

I reached my room and slammed the door shut. Inside, I leaned against the wall, breathing hard. My heart raced. My skin was cold. My eyes itched. Too many voices. Too much noise. I stumbled toward the mirror. And I froze. At first glance, my reflection looked the same messy hair, pale cheeks, wide eyes, but then the edges shimmered. For a heartbeat, I saw it. The flicker. Not me. Not fully. My eyes shifted. Once, then again. The brown dissolved into a molten gold, not fully glowing, but lit like something inside me was burning through. For a moment, they turned completely yellow, rimmed in silver. Then they faded.

It's probably the effect of the weed, or maybe we such good friends that we make each other laugh so hard? Nah, it's definitely the weed. "I'm pink," Ashley says, continuing with this little game. "Because of my hair." She starts to play with the ends of her mostly pink hair. "I'm grey, the color that's between dark and white," Kristen says. "Because I'm the innocent one here but I'm also moving to the dark side." She starts to giggle. "You are definitely going to the dark side." Tatiana agrees with her. "I still can't believe you are a virgin though."

The flashes got faster and faster before they added flashes of different disasters, both manmade, supernatural, and natural. I fight it as much as I can, but the flashing is starting to drive me insane and allowing the wildness within me to surface and take control. I don’t know how long I was within that flashing room when it suddenly stopped and the small door opened. I felt that sting in the back of my neck and the familiar burning before I passed out.

Taking in a deep breath. She gets ready for the final flare. Closing her eyes,she focusses all her energy. At her palms and the light intensifies more. Illuminating the area. Blinding the people.Making them place their hands on their eyes. Protecting from the light. " Noooooooo!!!" Strong winds envelope the place. Making the sand to blind the people along with the light.

asks Syl, who like me is having trouble even getting a spark. "Which one are you working on?" asks Hala. "Exercise one." "Oh, I skipped that." "Which one are you on?" "Exercise three." "Let me try that," says Syl, and after a few tries a burst of flower-petal like colors of light blue and yellow shine out from his wand. "Let me try," I say too, and mine after the fifth time leads to a set of carmine shade triangles, nine of them, to fade into existence, and then out slowly.

I groan in frustration when it doesn’t work. “Julia” I hear as someone calls my name. I open my eyes slowly as I go to look at the face. I don’t even want to open them. I was finding the black void behind my lids to be really appealing as I just focused on my breathing. When I open them slow the first thing that I see is a bunch of yellow. I frown at the brightness of the color and close my eyes once more.

She covered the bottle with its lid, “So why are you here anyway?” I stared at her with my mouth ajar, I didn't speak for a full minute wondering if this was actually the right choice I made, “I'm here because I keep having these flashes like hallucinations.” I tried to keep it vague, going around telling everyone I could see the future didn't sound right to me. She nodded as she handed me a tissue for my injury, “And might I ask what caused these flashes? I can tell it's not ordinary.” I cleared my throat, “By… erm… some kind of orb,” I said, avoiding her eyes and scratching the back of my head.
