A Few Hundred Poppies

A Few Hundred Poppies

It was the gun inside his desk drawer on his conscience. Forcing the thoughts out of his head, West strode out to the corridor. The wallpaper in the corridor was less wallpaper and more fungus, but West was beginning to adjust to the differences between his father's glamorous mansion and the dilapidating home of a supposedly creepy old man, and didn't flinch when his shoulder grazed the fungus.

Claimed by my Brother’s Best Friends

Claimed by my Brother’s Best Friends

The room is dimly lit, with hideous lime-green wallpaper peeling in sad curled strips. The bed sags like it's given up on life after years of questionable use, and the old TV hums in the background. Mildew clings to the air, and thanks to my heightened pregnancy senses, it takes everything in me not to fucking gag. God, if I puke in here, I might add to the biohazard already festering in this place. No one sits. No one even leans against the wall. It's like we all silently agree that touching anything in here might infect us with something terminal.

Estel Underhill
No no no it’s like the first part was in slow motion day by day and you fast forward through the last important months in a chapter or 2 and skip the wedding and this BS of Niko now saying he’s gay- did they break up no wedding NOTHING no War WTH that’s just wrong to end like that!
Carmin
The beginning started off great and most of the book but the ending was rushed and so very disappointing. No wedding, no more on where mason and king stand, what about gray? So many things left undone

The Disreputable Duke

The Disreputable Duke

She lifted her head and opened her eyes. God, who the heck had lived here? The wallpaper was awful. Black and silver interlocking circles, supposed to be modern, just looked crap. It certainly wasn't a house paper, more like a nineties night club; she could see that someone had once painted the walls black as well. Crickey, it must have looked like a cave. The wall behind her was painted a pale mauve colour, like mouldy Parma violet sweets.

Behind Walls

Behind Walls

"I want to skip work today." 15 years ago, the year when large monsters, Wamilas as they would call it, started appearing all over the world. Upon their arrival, they only created chaos and destruction whenever they set their foot upon. No country was safe, everywhere was deemed dangerous as long as Wamilas were there. Just in the first month after they appeared, most countries were already on the brink of extinction. Only a couple were able to slow down the rate of destruction. Everyone had thought that their lives were already done. They thought that there was no hope for their survival. But as time passed by, researchers were able to discover a material powerful enough to weaken them and

The Wife He Replaced

The Wife He Replaced

CHAPTER 40 Kate's pov The cheap yellow wallpaper in the motel room was peeling at the corners. It smelled of cigarettes and sour bleach. I sat on the edge of the mattress. My legs were curled tight against my chest. The springs inside the bed groaned loudly every time I moved. This place was disgusting. It was a hole on the edge of the city. A million miles away from the luxury penthouse and the velvet sheets I deserved. My hands were shaking much. I could barely hold my phone. On the cracked laminate table to the bed sat my laptop. The screen was still glowing white. It showed the confirmation page of my offshore bank account.

Mated To Twin Alphas

Mated To Twin Alphas

Looked at the wallpaper. Damn it. She hadn’t even noticed it before he said anything. It was a soft gray, subtle patterns woven through, barely there unless you really looked. It was—fine. Normal. But now she was backed into a corner, and she refused to let him be right. "It’s awful," she said firmly. "I hate it." Jake grinned. "Liar." She scowled. "I do. It’s ugly." "It suits you." Lila blinked. "Excuse me?"

It was decorated in a white and blue trim comforter and more pillows than she’d ever seen. “Yes. They’re mood walls. They sense your need to relax, so they’ve adjusted to a color you find comforting. It seems white is the one for you.” She blinked. This was way too much weird so early in the day. “Wait. Didn’t you say it was dinner time? Didn’t we leave in the morning?” Gerri nodded and put Bella’s bag on a fainting chair. She hadn’t seen one of those since she’d been at her grandmother’s house.

Lilith And Her Three Devil Wolves

Lilith And Her Three Devil Wolves

I can feel the grease through the leather of the coat. I stand there for a second, clutching the collar to my throat, looking at the faded yellow wallpaper and the dusty plastic plants in the corners. My face is burning. I can feel the fluorescent bulbs highlighting every flaw, every smudge of makeup, every strand of hair that's escaped from whatever disaster my bun has become. "Are you serious right now? Anyone could walk in here. This is disgusting."

Over the edge

Over the edge

He was claustrophobic. The walls of the living room had a beautiful flowered off-white wallpaper on them. A beige couch and three gray sofas sat in a semi circle round a glass topped center table. An oversized TV hung on the wall directly opposite the couch. coffee tables stood beside the sofas, on one of them lay a stack of the Times magazine. Marley had always been obsessed with magazines. Old habits, they say, die hard. The whole apartment was spotless, not even dust particles were seen floating around. The kitchen was same as hers. White walls, marble counter which served a double purpose... And lots of cabinets.

Fatal Summer 1987

Fatal Summer 1987

It's a small yellow house with a big sign on the front that says, "Hazel’s Psychic House." Layla and Sunny walk through the door and are greeted by a warm, incense-filled room. The walls are adorned with tapestries and shelves filled with crystals and tarot cards, creating an atmosphere of mystique and intrigue. They are then greeted by an older woman with gray hair pulled up into a vintage style bun as she says, "Hello ladies! I am Hazel, your spiritual navigator. "
