The next thing I knew, I was airborne. Pain exploded through my body as I hit the ground hard. Every bone felt like it had been shattered. I clenched my jaw, biting back a groan, forcing my face into a smirk. I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of seeing me break. “You’re just standing in the way of something very inevitable, Don. He goes down with a thud, but before I can turn to check for more, someone punches me in the side and the sheer force of it knocks the breath from me.
