I feel like I’m in a sea surrounded by giants. I start walking through the crowd and as I spot Cain in the far corner someone steps in front of me. Amber.

Enough supplies to survive a minor apocalypse.” I blinked at her. “You didn’t have to.” She brushed it off. “I know.” Something warm spread through me that had nothing to do with fever. “I’d hug you,” I murmured, “but I’d rather not infect you.” She leaned forward anyway and pressed a kiss to my hair. “Get better. Then we’re going shopping.”

When I came to my senses, we were surrounded by every creature you could possibly imagine. "Shit." I muttered.
