Even after Benjamin’s car had driven off, he hadn’t recovered. “Young master!” Suddenly, a short-haired middle-aged woman appeared behind him. The icy “young master” finally snapped Zachary back to reality. Seeing the woman, Zachary’s eyes widened again. She was his mother’s personal assistant, Megan—short, neat hair, not particularly beautiful, but her features together gave off a stern, oppressive air. A tailored white suit and expensive jewelry amplified her commanding aura, making her seem formidable and highly efficient. Megan was his mother’s most capable female assistant—so intimidating that even Zachary felt a chill whenever he saw her.

I heard the murmurs from around me, everyone staring at me in horror. “I heard it was a Volana that drove the previous Alpha crazy,” someone whispered. “Is that really our future Luna? She’s so young.” “Is she really dangerous?” Felicity stepped closer to me, so she was only inches away. “You have no business being in our pack. Regardless of where you go, whether you mean to or not, you will always cause harm.” I pressed my lips firmly together; I was about to say something until Megan spoke from behind her. Looking up at her mother she said, “No… the nice lady helped me, mommy. I had a big cut on my arm, and she healed me.”

She removed the clothes on her wrist and began treating the wound. "Does it pain?" The wrist was paining but she didn't show it. Her father always tell her never to show weaknesses. "No", she replied and Jazz looked surprised. "It isn't paining?", He asked. "It isn't." Megan completed the cleaning and wrapped it with bandage. "It's time for dinner and you will take some pills to reduce the pain."

It seemed that he too, was lost, still trying to figure out what was going on. Jakub laughed upon seeing her again. “Oh look. Princess chicken wimp is back again to have another go.” Megan stormed past me angrily, walking to the weapons area and searching for one good enough for whatever she had in mind. She finally got a long iron rod and placed it into the fire. While waiting for the metal to heat up, she went to Jakub, hitting his face with slaps that echoed through the walls.

“Yes. I…” “Gwen! There you are!” A voice cuts me off. It’s sharp. Familiar. Laced with confidence. I turn toward it, and my heart pauses. It's Megan. The twins squeal and run to her. “Mommy!” But she doesn’t look at them. She’s looking at me. And the calm in her face vanishes the second our eyes meet. Her entire expression hardens into stone. Then, with a voice thick with surprise and rage, she asks, “What the hell are you doing here, Xarion?”

She squealed then hit her lap playfully. "Oww!" Megan exclaimed and rubbed the area that Julie hit. "That was painful, girl. However, you can think whatever you want. In the case that you hire whoever it might be, and I am not around, make sure to inform me." She ordered. "Of course, I will. I am proud of you Megan." Julie beamed. "Why are you proud?" She asked in confusion. It was her turn to shrug. "Nothing, I am just proud." Her expression suddenly turned sad. "Do you remember what next week is?"

Alexander’s POV “ What do you want?” Megan asked, the ends of her dark hair covering her eyes, Jason throwing her here, to the cold marble floor of my dad’s mansion. “ You good? I’ll protect you through. Just trust me,” I said to her, running to her, helping her up. “ How and why did you have to bring Megan into this?” My voice was cold, attached, emotional, angry at my father, Victor.
