Lance POV Pains , sweet pains I've never known watched through me, down my spine to my organs filling my lungs and almost choking me out of breath and dissipating me out of this world. My hands wrapped around my head as I fight a sudden nostalgia, I don't even know exactly what its, why the pains are bitter in most cases, some are sweet and enticing. I buried my heads downward trying to control my system to be in motion with the whatever it's I'm facing.

Rolling out of a burning car while shielding the one person you would rather die than lose is not cinematic the way people imagine. It is ugly. Gravel cuts into your skin. Your shoulder slams against hard earth. Your ribs protest like they want to crack open and file a complaint. My whole body was in pain from the jumping and rolling, but I did not care about that. I only cared about one thing.

I remember I would always ask her why people are so eager to do something that's gonna give them pain and she would just shake her head at my idiocy and would answer me with a phrase. I knew no one would hear me, not out here. The pain spread through from my stomach to my whole body. It felt like every bone and every joint within me was being snapped at the same time. I don’t know how long I laid like that. It could have been minutes or hours. I just prayed it would be over soon. I knew my first shift would be painful, but never realized it would be this intense. Suddenly, it stopped. I lay there, scarred to move, in case it started again. It was an experience I never want to have again.

"You didn't know the pain-sync system was Violet's idea. She thought it'd be a fun way to train a wife worthy of you. "You didn't know that every time you defended her and blamed me, it felt like a knife carving through my heart. "You didn't know that while you two chased thrills and soaked up applause from extreme sports, I was the one paying the price. I was the one dying for it." Every word hit like a hammer. His face drained of color. His whole body shook. "No... Violet wasn't like that. She was innocent. She—" "Innocent?" I cut him off. "Fine. Let me show you how innocent she really was."

Trinity's Pov Pain. Excruciating pain. Horrible, horrible pain was all I was feeling as I turned from one end of the bed to the other. I could feel my insides ripping apart and with each movement came pain like I had never experienced before. As badly as I wanted it to end, it just kept going octaves higher.
