The Crownless Throne Sarah’s silhouette stood rigid as she stepped toward the throne of bone and flesh. The monstrous seat pulsed, as though alive, its surface rippling with faces, mouths opening and closing in silent screams. The spiral threads of power writhed across its arms, beckoning her. John’s heart twisted. He rose to follow but Seraphina’s weak cry held him in place. “Don’t let her walk in alone,” she pleaded, chains straining. The spiral’s voice echoed in her words.

The scream inside my mind didn’t fade. It echoed louder, sharper, cutting through the throne’s ancient call like lightning splitting the sky. DO NOT TAKE THE THRONE. The light surrounding me shattered instantly. I stumbled backward just before sitting, my heart racing violently. The throne reacted. Not calmly. Not patiently. Angrily. Cracks spread across its surface, dark energy leaking from within like smoke forced through broken stone. The entire palace shook, pillars groaning as if something enormous had shifted beneath the foundation.

The throne had already started draining my strength. Omniscient sight was a throne-based power that came to the Alpha, who sat on the throne. The closer I was to the throne, the clearer my sight worked and faltered as I went farther away from it. Neither Ezra nor Raven ever desired to get close to the throne and even if they did, I wouldn’t have allowed them.

ROY The throne room was dim, lit only by the flickering light of the torches lining the walls. Shadows twisted and danced across the cold stone, reflecting the brutality that had taken root in what was once Shane’s domain.
