“Doctor Brock, something is wrong with Alpha Wyatt. I need you in his office immediately.” As I turn my attention back to Wyatt, both the Supreme Elder and Doctor Brock chime, “Okay.” I quickly nudge Wyatt’s shoulder a little harder. “Alpha Wyatt wake up. Alpha, you need to wake up.” My breath hitches as his body suddenly goes limp. Shit. He is now unconscious. I quickly grab his shoulders and shake him harder than my previous nudges. “Alpha Wyatt! Don’t scare me like this! Wake up!”

Yaju answered in detail. “Right. After that what happened?” The teacher asked again. “I panicked. So I put it back in my sash and flew away. They chased me and Jai shot me with his thunder. I fell to the ground and passed out. I don’t remember anything after that,” Yaju said, his expression was fully in confusion.

ASHINA’S POV The next morning, I stepped out of the tent, stretching my sore muscles from the previous day’s training. The sun was shining brightly over the camp, its golden rays casting a warm glow over the bustling soldiers preparing for another day of rigorous drills. Despite the energy in the air, my mind was still clouded with thoughts of the previous night. I took a slow breath, trying to push away the lingering embarrassment. It was just an accident. A mistake. Yet the memory of the way Alpha Boris had looked at me, his voice deep and confusing, replayed in my head against my will.

I turned the camera off and yanked the ring off, tossing it into the drain. Then, I sent a message to Jim Perez, the director of the hospital I worked in. "Regarding the assignment to Touden that I rejected, Mr. Perez, is there any way I can take on the offer now? I can fly to Touden and start work there immediately."

Before I could finish, he cut me off impatiently, "Yeah, work's calling. I have to go." He rushed out the door, and I didn't press him further. However, my doubts grew heavier. Was he really that busy? I followed him, and that was when I saw the happy family scene I had just described. I lifted my numb fingers and hit record, capturing the entire scene in front of me. When I returned home, I locked myself in my room and played the video on repeat. While I lay unconscious, someone else had quietly taken my place. What was the point of waking up at all?
