Adam's POV After learning the truth about myself twelve hours ago, I spent the night talking with my parents, then my wolf. I wanted to learn what I could about werewolves, so I decided to go to the library. Every book I read talks about our kind as though we are fantasy. To be fair, I used to think that way. I was sitting at a table in the middle of the library reading through my fifth book when I was suddenly overwhelmed with a jasmine and rose fragrance. It was so sweet and intoxicating.

“Okay, guys. Let's head to the study room. I've got something amazing to show you guys. Elektra skipped to the study room. It was a rectangular space with hundreds of books on the shelf. College was taking a toll on him, or was it his missing wolf? Alcinder reads too much if that's a thing. I mean, this is a lot of books. “Hey! Snap out of your endless thoughts”. Elecktra brought out a giant and rusty book. It had a black cover with gold writings on it and it smelt ancient. It was parched up in many places, it looked like it would fall apart if handled carelessly. At the other end, Alcinder kept watching me with curious eyes. What was his problem today? The shock on Nova’s face is palpable and she offers them a tight smile before looking at Nikolai. “Okay, are you going to tell me what’s up with Nova’s creepy kids?” I ask, gesturing towards the glass. “They can’t feel pain?”

She would only text me when she needed money. Finally, I could meet her during the New Year. However, she came home with Charles and Caleb. She expressed pity for the widower and his son, which made me speechless. After that, they watched the New Year parade together and took pictures at Sky Square. They were close like a family, which made me express my jealousy. I told her that her parents wanted grandchildren and that I wanted to have children with her. However, fury gripped her. “Zayn MacQuoid, you can’t be this selfish! I’m working hard right now. I can’t have kids!”

Before I could pull one out, though, I heard a knock at my door. I spun towards the door, accidentally tipping over the ink bottle. I thought nothing of it; the ink had never spilled before. Even so, I decided to turn back and pick it up. Which is when I noticed that the ink had somehow spilled, and not only that, but it spilled right onto my finished manuscript, 1001 Dark Tales. I sat there staring for a second, completely forgetting about the knock on the door. Nothing happened, though, and relief instantly filled me.

Novah's POV The silence after the shattering crash was different. Thicker, charged. Porcelain dust hung in the weak morning light filtering through the heavy blue drapes, catching on motes like fractured stars. Novah stood amidst the wreckage of the tray, the bowl, the candlestick, her chest heaving. The raw power that had surged through her moments before still thrummed in her veins, a low, insistent vibration beneath her skin, like a plucked bass string. It wasn't just adrenaline; it was *her*. Her wolf, coiled and watchful, its fury momentarily sated by the act of destruction. Not against a person, but against the memory, the helplessness Nick represented.
