Zodiac Academy Characters Novels & Stories

Death was the only freedom she had left. Calista Caitlynn had been raised in an Omega family—the lowest of the low, the slaves and outcasts of the werewolf hierarchy. For as long as she could remember, her parents despised her. All their affection, warmth, and protection were reserved exclusively for her younger sister, Amanda.

"H-How did that happen?" Cadmus wasn’t even surprised. He knows it; the book of prophecy tells it. He also believed that Emily is the most powerful Luna who wields the power of the Moon Goddess. Emily looked at Taurus, expressionless. "Because I am the powerful Luna, I can kill in just a snap." She answered. Taurus glanced at Cadmus. His eyes were confused. "Is it... true, Cadmus?" Cadmus nodded his head, but still, his eyes were directed at Emily. "The prophecy tells it." "She's superior, who holds the most powerful power of the Moon Goddess," he explained.

She was an orphan, going on a scholarship to a prestigious school, but she had also heard the rumors that the academy was like a cage for the wolves. Caged wolves had strict hierarchies defined by strength, power and cunning. In the great scheme of things, she would be outranked by everyone there. She just hoped that meant that they wouldn’t take their anger out on her. But she also knew wolves, and though she had hidden quite a lot from Alpha Anson, she also knew that she was likely to be a favorite target, just like she was here. She was a human in a world of wolves; they would make sure she understood that.

Emerald instructs and my wobbly legs take me to where Wardens are seated. My eyes collide with Lukas Aranal’s eyes. He seems displeased to know I’m the newest addition to his order. A weak Omega has no place on a battlefield. When naming day ends, Xannon is at my side again. Xaden had been named a Founder and Xander, an Elder. Eleven Wardens. Four Elders. Seven Shapers. Three Founders. All twenty-five of us are a part of the Starweaver Academy now. Professor Emerald keeps his word. He summons Lyka and I immediately after the event ends. Confinement looks like a four-by-four room with no windows inside it. Just when the door is about to lock, Xaden steps inside.

he assured, giving me that warm smile of his. If only my other siblings could say the same. I sighed. By the time we arrived at the Royal Palace of Meldonis, it was already nightfall. As I stepped out of the carriage, the moon bathed me in its radiant light. I turned to Valerian when I started noticing loads of stares focused on me. “Those must be moon gems,” Valerian commented, pointing to one of the gems on my gown. “They are rare gems that glow in the presence of moonlight. Now you look like a princess.”

It was supposed to look abandoned to keep curious humans away but that never works, so the entire school is under a cloaking spell of some kind. I let out a defeated sigh and make sure my hoodie is pulled over my face, before trudging along the walkway into the academy. As I enter, my eyes catch sight of white and black feathers. Tears fill my eyes and my hand flies over my mouth to stifle a sob. Julie quickly rushes to comfort me. She puts her arms around me, careful to not touch my back. She shushes me quietly, and I try to stop the tears from escaping. "It's alright Luciana, everything will be fine—they’re just like you," she says in my ear. "No they're not, they have wings."

The academy vanished. Rei found herself standing in a massive room filled with glowing threads. Thousands of them. Every thread represented an Alpha or Omega. She could feel them. Their emotions. Their fear. Their pain. Their lives. The Blackthorn network wasn't a machine. It was a prison made from people. Rei saw children. Students. Soldiers. Families. People who had never agreed to be part of it. She whispered, "I can free them." A voice answered. "Yes." Rei turned.

And in Utah, at Storm Academy, Celeste Valentina Morau—born 2011, ancient wizard bloodline finally awakened in fire and storm—had already signed off on the boy who wrote he had nothing to lose. Because sometimes the ones who expected death were the only ones strong enough to carry new life. Or so the legends went. Nico didn’t know any of that. He just knew the bell would ring soon. And when it did, he’d walk back to the dorm with Kai still chattering, Jax smirking, Theo watching quietly. He’d lie on his bunk and stare at the ceiling. And wait for whatever came next. Because that was all he’d ever done. Wait. And survive. 🩸

“You’re not what I expected.” “What did you expect?” “Well, a shriveled up old woman with a mustache.” I had no idea why I was trying to joke, but a flicker of light in my current situation seemed fitting. “Good to see you come packed with a sense of humor,” he laughed. “But I’m part of the Moon Guardians. Let’s just say it’s the werewolf equivalent of a student council at the academy. It’s our work to bring back new pups. You can see me as your recruitment officer, or whatever you humans call it.”

"Nice to finally meet you, Luna." "Luna?" I frowned at him. "You are ... ?" He held out his hand to me, "Edward Adler. Alpha from the Silver Moon pack." He lowered his head to kiss the back of my hand. "Alex Brennan is a really lucky guy." he said after letting go of my hand. Her voice matched the expression in her cold eyes.
