Broad shoulders rolled back as he stepped up to the machine, large palms gripping the red rifle from its holster, cracking his neck from side to side, like a boxer preempting a fight. Peeking behind him, he winked at Zoe’s soft smirk, her teeth scraping over her bottom lip. “I’m going to kick your ass, Walsh.”
Shaking her head competitively, Zoe snorted, stepping up to the control panel and grasping the green rifle. Adjusting her stance, she rested it against her shoulder, ocean eyes squinting through the sight.
