Zootopia Birds Novels & Stories

“Big Bird is coming your way! Johan, the freak, looked like he rose from the dead and went all ballistic on it but is running towards the library now.” Tracer was still in the middle of arranging the explosives when he shot Akiko a desperate look. “Terrorist is coming here with the bird. We should go now.” Akiko hesitated for only a moment but quickly agreed. It was better to be safe than sorry. If Johan kept the bird busy, they could skulk around the area to continue keeping the bird away from the kitchen. The others could go on more egg runs if there weren’t enough materials and help Zen craft that Rainbow egg.

“Let’s walk around first.” The next hour was like something out of a dream. We walked through the zoo hand in hand, pointing at the animals and taking pictures together. I hadn’t been to a zoo since I was a child, and something about seeing a giraffe with an incredibly long tongue, monkeys, even sleepy lions and watching as parrots tried to mimic our laughter, made me feel like one again. When we reached the bird section, Cole handed me some bird seeds. We stood side by side, letting birds peck gently at our palms.

The girls seemed to notice something was off, but they were too busy clinging to us to mention it. That night, Zane and I cuddled a child apiece as I read. Despite, my recent purchases, they wanted the familiarity of their favorite, even though it was a sad moment in the story. “But one evening, when the artificial bird was singing its best, and when the Emperor lay in bed listening to it, something inside the bird said “Whiz!” Something cracked. “Whirr!” All the wheels ran around, and then the music stopped. The Emperor immediately sprang out of bed, and caused his Body Physician to be called; but what could he do?

Bodhi added. As soon as he said that, Baxter and I laughed. I noticed Nina had still not said anything. She stared out the window. The back seat felt empty because of her silence. Baxter parked his SUV and got out, helping the kids while I looked toward Nina. "Come on, Nina," I said as I stepped out. The air felt fresh. "And kids, all the birds and animals here are good at hiding and finding places. Look, there is a flock right there. They survived the storm. They always do," Baxter told Bodhi while pointing toward the flock and the other animals coming out of hiding.

"Wanna sit on the swing while we eat?" I nodded and smiled around my cup. "Sounds perfect." We ate mostly in companionable silence as we watched the birds dance around the trees. Along the power lines sat three bluejays, one sitting slightly further away than the other two. Almost as if it were ostracized from his mates. My heart fell a little at the sight. The lone bird held both a meaning for me and a message. "Liz?" "Hm?" "You know when Mykel is coming home?"

He is fascinated by their playful antics, their swinging tails, and their clever behavior. Often mimicking them and erupting into giggles. It’s contagious, watching his eyes light up as he learns something new about his favorite animals. Abel, on the other hand, has a deep affection for all the birds. He is especially fond of the cockatoos, with their vibrant feathers and lively personalities. Watching them flap their wings and squawk fills him with immense joy. Abel can’t help but be a laughing fool every time I imitate the birds, yapping and laughing alongside them, inventing all sorts of silly sounds and phrases.

Audrey suggested, and the three of them continued their outing, marveling at the chirping of birds and scurrying squirrels. They soon discovered a petting zoo with goats grazing in a nearby field! Mrs. Vargas carefully lifted Asher out of his stroller and brought him close to one of the goats which nuzzled its head against his small hand before wandering away into another part of the field. Audrey squealed in delight at the sight, while Asher chuckled softly in amazement. “Oh my! He loves them,” Audrey commented and laughed. On their way back home, Mrs. Vargas pointed out different types of birds perched atop trees or branches singing cheerfully as they walked past - there were sparrows, pig

She had gone insane. A few seconds later, I suddenly sat upright. Wait… Could it be that the eggs had hatched? Zombies didn’t need food to survive, but baby birds were different. Even though zombies couldn’t feel pain, they still instinctively avoided danger like the acid rain. And yet this zombie bird had actually suppressed that instinct for the sake of its children. No matter what, the bird indirectly helped me more than once. It patrolled the estate every day and dealt with wandering zombies, saving me plenty of trouble.

"Is someone onto us?" Zion's gaze flickered up to meet mine, his expression troubled as he shook his head. "No," he replied, his voice tinged with unease. "It's... something else." I narrowed my eyes at his cryptic response, a sense of foreboding settling over me like a dark cloud. "Well, spit it out," I snapped, my frustration boiling over. "What's so important that it couldn't wait?" Zion took a deep breath, steeling himself before he spoke. "The pigeon," he began, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's not just any ordinary bird. It's been trained using unnatural powers to find me specifically, to deliver messages meant only for my eyes."

A second one quickly joined the first one and added to the chirps. Frustrated by the noisy birds, Miko dropped her tools and looked up at them with an annoyed kind of death stare. “What do you want? Can’t you see I’m busy?!” The first bird uttered a few chirps plainly and evenly. After it was done, the second one added a few of its own, as though to confirm the first. “I dunno. Go... search for bugs in the courtyard. It’s nice to be useful, isn’t it?” The bird puffed itself up, gave a happy chirp, then floated out the open window behind Miko.
