Meredith comes into the bath. "Sweetie? Are you ok?" She asks worriedly. Meredith immediately grabs my hairtail. "Yes, it's ok. Maybe I just ate something bad yesterday." I say still sitting in front of the toilet. "Honey, are you maybe...?" She doesn't end the sentence but I know exactly what she means. "No, I don't think so. We have prevented every time." I say but a hidden voice in my head asks the same question. "When have you done it at least?" She asks worriedly.

Each keystroke was a calculated move in the intricate chess game they were playing—a game where every player was a potential pawn or a threat. On the screen, information scrolled past—financial transactions, surveillance photos, medical reports. The watcher’s eyes narrowed as they focused on a set of recent communications between the man and Evelyn. She was careful, covering her tracks well, but even the most meticulous plans had their flaws. And it was in those flaws that the watcher saw the opportunity.

"You really need to see this!" Without waiting for an answer, she put out her arm and showed a torn letter she was holding tightly. Ethan could smell his pack right away, but he didn't know who had written the letter. It was a message that looked like it was written quickly and messy, like the sender was in a hurry. Gabriel moved forward, his "alpha" reflexes kicking in. He picked up the letter and quickly looked at what it said. As he read, his face got darker. "What's that?" Ethan asked, with his heart racing from worry.

Roy made a call to their pack doctor and asked him to come over to his place to check on Elijah. In less than an hour, the doctor was at Roy’s house with the necessary equipment needed to perform his work. After he was done checking on Elijah, he confirmed that there were no internal injuries, even though he was badly beaten by the alpha.
