I brought you something.” He opened his hands to reveal a peculiar necklace, the pendant of which was an inscribed pentagram. “It’s a Morpheus Pentacle,” said Mr. Humphries. “The seller claimed that it prevents lilitu from entering the wearer’s dreams.”

“IT’S JUST I HAD a different book in mind when ink spilled on this one, plus what’s left to do in a finished book?” They, of course, ignored me Completely probably deciding if I would not explain, they were just going to proceed. One of the three waved their hand above the inky darkness we were standing on, and instantly a book on a pedestal was in front of them on the floor. It showed off my title, ‘1001 Dark Tales’. I instantly held my breath, hoping they didn’t realize what that meant. But if they had, they said nothing. Instead, they just started flipping through the pages of the book, looking for which store to choose.

No harm done. Olivia opened the book, but she didn’t understand it. Her hands shook while the book glowed with a ghoulish amethyst light. She dropped it and moved away when smoke spiraled from it. At the same time, Olivia heard an eerie cackle and saw the vision of a tall elegant woman dressed in a black gown. The little girl stared open-mouthed at the lady with crimson, lilac hair and yellow horns protruding from her head. Olivia’s body trembled.

The room filled with a blinding light, and I shielded my eyes. When the glow subsided, I blinked, staring at the pages before we held open in Uncle Lucifer’s hands. The pages were filled with symbols, diagrams, and cryptic text. Millie stepped closer, as I stayed close to her. “What does the book say?” she asked looking at the large leather book. Lucifer’s eyes glowed with an otherworldly purple light as he read aloud: “The Cult of Draconis Cor.” Uncle Lucifer said in a low rumbling growl.

Still the rain didn't look like stopping anytime soon so she thought she'd look around, maybe she could find a cheap copy of one of the classics she liked. Tara dropped this idea as she began to wander between the shelves, the books all seemed very odd. Those which she could read the titles of were things like 'The Occult Magick of the Amazon', 'Guide to the Dark Dimension', 'John Dee's Rituals', 'Demon Summoning' and 'Aleistar Crowley's Full Works'. Tara thought she'd heard of the last guy, some sort of mystic from before the Second World War. Orcenal found it inside Harriet’s room this morning. The book was the prophecy from the other world, and the title was... [The Crown’s Diamond]. Anatoli and Ayja immediately stood back up and approached him. When they were about to reach and observe the book, Orcenal threw it to the raging fireplace.

She scoured ancient texts and scrolls, searching for any hint of forgotten power or hidden strength. Hours passed, and Lola's eyes burned from reading by candlelight. Just as she was about to give up, she stumbled upon a dusty, leather-bound tome. The title faded, but she could make out the words "Beast of Gévaudan." Her heart raced as she flipped through the pages, reading about an ancient and powerful creature that once terrorized the lands. The spells within promised immense strength and near invincibility, but they also carried dire warnings of the cost.
