Derek's POV:

I sit on my swirl chair, still holding my balls, it hurt terribly.

"That little witch, will pay for this!" I snap painfully.

"You can't blame her for reacting that way, when you have your hand around her throat," Derek says, chuckling as he hand me the ice bag, "Place that on it, it should ease the pain".

"Are you siding with her now?" I ask, feeling slightly betrayed.

"I am not. And I am not siding with your actions too, Derek. You almost squeezed the life out of the poor girl. You kind of deserve that", he snort, while my wolf, Mason, growl his approval.

"You promiscuous, wolf!" I mutter to Mason, my wolf, who 'Hmph' in response.

"You both suck!" I hiss the words out, as I place the ice bag gently on my balls, closing my eyes at the relieve.

"Why?" Darren ask, standing in front of me, both of his hands in his pocket, his white sleeves rolled to a stop by his elbows. Looking at his overall dressing I think we have almost the same taste in fashion.

"Why?" he repeat again.

  • The Lycan's Curse - His Hybrid Mate    Chapter Eighty-Four: Shocking Revelations

Raven's POV:Long after Cyre left. I sit with the book, fingers twitching at the edges of the pages trying hard to read it. But I can't. The text ripples in front of me any time I try to.I blink. Again.Nothing.I sigh. What the hell is wrong with me? I mutter, shutting the book with more force than necessary. The wind shifts. And then I smell it.That scent. Familiar - sharp like burned safe, laced with crushed petals. It's hers.Olivia.Along with it, there's a scent that doesn't belong.I rise slowly, scanning the treeline from the edge of the den's eastern garden. The moon casts pale shards through the forest canopy - and then I see it.A cloaked figure. Moving swiftly among the trees."What the hell - ?"

  • The Lycan's Curse - His Hybrid Mate    Chapter Eighty-Three: The Blind Old Seer

Olivia's POV:I shouldn't be here. The corridor is dim, tucked just behind one of the carved alcoves in the East Wing. I come looking for the young man I'd a one night stand with. I'm in heat and could do with a nice, steamy, hot sex to cool off my nerves. But I can't move. Not after what I'm seeing. Two guards. One frail looking woman between them. They're dragging her - no, not roughly, but not gently either - they reek of secrecy. And that moment, as the light hits her face just right, I see her. She's not just some prisoner. She's the blind old seer. The one who foresaw Ryel as the Lycan and ultimate ruler of the world. The one who whispered. "Greenwoods must fall for you to rise to the position of Lycan."I freeze, pressing my back against the wall so hard it hurts.

  • The Lycan's Curse - His Hybrid Mate    Chapter Eighty-Two: Desperate Resort

Derek POV:The moment Cyre says it, I stiffen."You scream, Alessia."No. Absolutely not.I step in front of her on instinct, the way I always do when the unknown dares to reach for her. My claws are already out, though I don't remember unsheathing them. Cyre's too close to her again. Too close to danger, to all of this."She's not doing that," I growl, eyes locked on Raven's glowing form.Alessia places a hand on my arm, gently, grounding me. Her touch always cuts through the rage, but this time it barely scratches the surface."Derek..." she says softly, and I hear it - not fear, not hesitation.Conviction."No." I turn to her, voice sharp. "You don't know what will happen if you scream right now. Your power isn't stable yet. What if this thing inside Raven tries to latche onto -onto you -

  • The Lycan's Curse - His Hybrid Mate    Chapter Eighty-One: The Monster He Created

Cyre's POV:I watch her walk away - chest broad and shoulders square, and although she has this air of boldness around her. I notice it all a facade she's putting on. Something she's stitching together just to face the world without shattering. She's trembling beneath it. I can feel it.And then Derek snaps beside me."Why the hell did you do that, Alessia? You just let her walk away with the fucking book."His voice slices through the stillness like a blade. His rage isn't just about the book, though. I can tell. It's about control. About the fact that something ancient just slipped through our fingers - and Alessia let it.Alessia doesn't flinch."Because she needed it," she says, steady. "And she's not the enemy.""Not the enemy?" Derek hisses. "That girl is working for Ryel - ""She's conflict

  • The Lycan's Curse - His Hybrid Mate    Chapter Eighty: The Fox

Raven POV:I'm drowning.No... It feels more like floating. The world is dark - soft and distant, like a half- remembered lullaby. I can't feel my body. I can't feel time. But I sense something.A tether.A voice.Calling me.My fingers twitch, as I feel something rushing through my veins. It's not pain. Not exactly. I feel every surge crawling through every five of my being, like lightning tangled with memory. It feels like power.I feel powerful.Who am I?I try to remember - my name, my pack, the sound of my own voice - but everything I see are eyes. Gold and red and ancient. Then a soft white fur pulls me closer.A fox. And it's staring at me.Nine tails coiled in smoke behind it."Where am I?" I whisper, voice lost in the ether. "Am I dead?"But it grins. Not quite, Child.A scream pierces the darkness.RAVEN! It calls. It's her. The Banshee. Alessia. The sound isn't just a sound, my body reacts to it, lurching forward, and suddenly...I'm falling. The fox wraps it's tail around

  • The Lycan's Curse - His Hybrid Mate    Chapter Seventy-Nine: The Nine-Tailed Fox

Cyre POV: All eyes snap to me the moment I speak."If she's what I think she is..." I say softly, stepping further into the ancient hall, "... we're already too late."The shadows curl at my feet, reluctant to let me go. Maybe, I am reluctant, seeing Ryel's most favored wolf on the table. Raven. But I peel forward, ignoring the weight in my chest. Her skin still hums faintly with energy. The book... gods, that book. It's clutched to her chest like a lifeline, like a promise she made to herself long before tonight. And I recognize the look in Alessia's eyes - curiosity and unease clashing like fire and frost.Derek glares at me, his voice cold. "What the hell do you mean, too late?"I don't answer him right away. Instead, I walk slowly towards the table to examine Raven's body. Dr. Dathan moves aside slightly to accommodate me.Raven's fingers twitch again, but it's not a reflex - her instincts are beginning to kick in."She's not a Hellhound," I say, voice quiet but cutting. "Not unl
