A DEAL PROPOSAL

The kiss was becoming intense, as the seconds rolled by, I could feel myself slowly sinking into his touches.

Lara wasn't helping matters, if anything, she wanted to take control of my body.

Hell no way was I going to allow that. Lara was sure to cause chaos.

Axton's finger trailing down my thighs forced my eyes open. Gosh, I still can't believe I actually closed my eyes while kissing someone I claimed to hate.

He was just a touch away from my center when I gave him a push off my body. “What was that for?” I shot at him. “Do you go around kissing anyone and every woman you come across?”

“No,” He shook his head slightly. “Only you, my love. Would it make you feel any better if I tell you right now you are the first woman I've ever kissed?”

His eyes looked over my face, slowly dragging down to my cleavages. “Does it?” He asked again.

“Cut the crap Axton. It doesn't make me feel better, and it never will.”

“Really?” An amused smile played on the corner of his lips. “Then should I go on kissing any woman I come in contact with?”

“Your choice, I don't care what you do.”

“You should, you are my wife after all.” He dragged out the last part as if to remind me I had no choice other than to accept him.

Well… truly, I had no choice. Whether I chose to reject him or accept him, he had already chosen the latter since the moment he had me abducted from Crestmoon pack.

“Have you finally started to realize the part you should have taken?” His voice came up beside me, close to my ears.

When he left my front and walked to my back, I honestly had no idea.

“Since you are so obsessed with me being your wife,” I inhaled deeply. “Then I accept it, I will be your wife, but only in name and only as long as I want.”

“Only as long as you want?” He repeated. A long, and dense silence ensued between us, then he suddenly huffed. “Why? That's you being selfish, little wolf.”

“I don't think so.” I retorted. “I am only agreeing to this alliance shit purely because I want to pick the left over pieces of my broken self–”

“Sounds like once you piece yourself in order, you'd leave.” He cut me off. His voice against my ears tickled every single vein in me. “You don't think I'd let you go, it's time you stop harboring those thoughts, it's quite pathetic if you ask me.”

“And yet when I asked you what my father offered you in exchange for getting me as your bride, you weaved your way out without giving me a response.” I tried to move away from him, but my steps were slow, his right hand was already around my waist dragging me to stand still.

I struggled a bit in an effort to break free from his hold, but I only ended up getting my butt rubbing on his dick.

I so hated the position I found myself in, but I was smart enough to know that anymore struggle from me, and we'd be kissing, at least that was what I made out from my struggling.

“You only asked what I offered your father, you never asked what he offered me in exchange for a beautiful bride.”

I scoffed. “Was that why you didn't answer me?”

“How can I give an answer to a question that isn't clear?” He let go of my waist, but never gave me the chance to move away from him.

“If you really want to know what your father offered me, then work with me.”

I rolled my eyes at him. Thank the heavens he couldn't see that. “Work with you?” I repeated. “As in the secretary kind of work or the digging up secrets kind of work?”

Ignoring my sarcasm, he said, “The latter.” Then he moved away from behind me, and slowly, he started to walk around the study room. “Agree to work with me first, then I'll fully go into the details.”

With every step he took, my eyes followed him about.

“Are you being serious right now?” I muttered. “Why should I work with you, what do I stand to gain from working with you? And does that mean I am no longer your wife but your working partner?”

His steps ceased, he turned round to face me, his eyes looked nowhere but my face. “You’d be both. And speaking of what you'd gain from working with me, is working with Alpha Axton, ruler of Shadowmoon pack, who is also your husband not enough for you?”

A snicker rose up my throat which I was quick to simmer down. “I am not interested. I just agreed to be your wife only in name, don't push your luck.”

“Here are my rules.” I continued. “No unnecessary sudden kissing, you can do that only in public and when it's really really really important. Remember I said really three times,” 

He chuckled but said nothing.

“You should stop being informal, we are not in love. Do not for any reason think you'd have sex with me, and lastly, this marriage will last only for a year.”

“Are you done with the rules?”

I gave a short nod. “So it seems.”

“Good. Now can I remind you about the marriage certificate I showed you the other day?”

I frowned a little, more of a confused frown. “How does that have anything to do with my rules?”

“Have some patience, will you?” I have no idea why, but the smile on his face, it unsettled the hell out of me.

“Once you leave the study, you'll be shown your new room. On your bed, that same marriage certificate is lying there on the bed, do well to go through it again, once you are done, I'd agree with your rules.”

“What are you scheming this time, Axton?”

“I love the way you call my name, I wonder how it'd sound if you moan my name while I'm balls deep inside you.”

“Keep on fantasizing.”

He laughed, a short throaty sound. “Trust me, it'd happen soon enough, sooner than you would ever imagine.”

“You are so impossible.” I gritted. I turned my back on him, and was ready to stomp out of his study.

“Since you don't want to work with me, how about a deal?”

I stopped walking, but didn't bother to turn around. “A deal?” I repeated. “I’m not interested either.” I said then continued to walk again.

“What if I tell you it's about your late mother?”
