LOGINMarley looked for any form of recognition from him but found none.
He didn't recognize her.
Marley had a flashback.
Flashback
“Daddy who is he?” A younger Marley asked her father gesturing to the unconscious man lying on the bed with bandage around his head and arm.
“Someone dear. I found him in the river while fishing.” Her father replied her while arranging some pills on the table.
Her father was a traditional doctor who enjoyed fishing in his leisure.
Marley adjusted her thick rimmed glasses and went over to the unconscious man on the bed.
She looked down at him.
He had cuts on his face and lips but he was handsome nonetheless.
“I need to go get some herbs in the garden. Watch over him dear.” Her father left leaving her alone with the stranger.
Marley sat down beside the bed still admiring him.
He mumbled something shaking violently and Marley laid her hand on his quivering hand worriedly.
He calmed down after awhile and opened his eyes slowly.
Marley stared into an ocean blue eyes. The eyes roamed all over her face then across the room then back at her. It was now filled with confusion.
“Hello.” Marley greeted him awkwardly.
“Where am I? Who are you?” His voice was crooked and he tried to sit up but groaned in pain.
“I'll suggest you don't try to sit up sir. My father said he found you in the river with bruises. He has been taking care of you for the past three days and you have been unconscious since.” Marley filled him in.
“What's your name?” She asked him.
The man stared at her. “Anthonio.”
“Anthonio…..” The name rolled off her tongue and she smiled at him.
He didn't smile back but kept on looking at her before realization hit her.
“Ohh my name? Neils. My name is Neils.”
“Isn't that a man's name?” He mumbled but Marley heard him.
“It seems your head is still on track.” It was meant as a joke but Anthonio wasn't smiling.
“I see you can't take a joke. Well Neils is my middle name, I prefer it over my first name. My first name is too girly.”
“So just call me Neils okay?” At that moment her father came in with the herbs.
BACK TO THE PRESENT
Marley swallowed the bile in her throat.
It had been five years ago and even though she had grown older and her features more toned and matured and without any glasses to hide her grey eyes, he wasn't supposed to forget her.
About everything.
Was he pretending or had he lost his memories as the doctors said in the tabloid?
He surely shouldn't have forgotten he was the cause of her father's death, a man who was just offering help to a dying stranger.
Her chest tightened and she struggled to breath.
“Miss Neils?”
Marley turned to see everyone's eyes on her.
Everything was already set up and Anthonio was already sitted. They were waiting for her.
She inhaled inwardly and sat down on the chair opposite him.
She needed to calm down.
She took the questionnaire slips and gave the camera crew cue to start.
“Good day viewers, we have a very special guest with us today, who plans to share a bit of his life's experiences with us.” Marley held on for an heartbeat to make the audience anticipate.
“Anthonio Kalvey.”
She moved on with the questions, of his beginnings and motivation.
He answered eloquently.
Marley's hand tightened on the paper when she came to a certain question.
She looked at him and met his eyes.
“Hmmm, Mr Kalvey, this question has been on every netizen mind and it is about five years ago.”
She saw his lips draw into a thin line.
“What really happened? Was what the tabloids and Internet said true? It was said your car flew over the bridge and you drowned.”
Marley waited for his answer. For any clue that he remembered everything but Anthonio kept quiet, his ocean blue eyes a darker shade now.
“Mr Kalvey?”
“Didn't my secretary tell you guys that questions about the past and accidents won't be tolerated?” His voice was a deeper baritone now.
“Hmmm.” Marley gestured to the camera crew and they understood pausing the recording.
“She was shown the questionnaire and she had no problem with it.” Marley replied him.
Mrs Bling was already sweating in her pants. “I'm sorry sir, but Mr Peter said we shouldn't exempt those questions that it will be better to ease everyone's curiosity.”
Anthonio snickered. “Whose secretary are you?”
“I'm so sorry sir.”
“You are fired.” Anthonio declared and the secretary knelt down begging but Anthonio just sat there feeling unaffected.
Marley watched everything in silence observing him.
He had really changed. Alot. She felt and saw it.
His aura was cold and ruthless.
Anthonio placed a call to someone. “Pack all Mrs Bling belongings immediately. I mustn't meet it there when I come.” He ended the call and glanced over at Marley.
“Don't ask me those questions again. They are my buried past.”
Mrs Bling was still bawling and two securities came out of nowhere and dragged her out.
“Understood sir.” Marley said.
The camera crew hit the recording button and Marley asked him the remaining questions.
~~~~~~~
“Hello boss.”
“What did you find out?”
“Nothing boss. Absolutely nothing, no birth certificate, no knowledge of an high school or college. Just that she has worked in CNS for three years.”
“It's so strange boss. Marley Neils identity only exist around CNS.”
“Okay Bruno. Keep digging for more.” Anthonio ended the call.
~~~~~~~~
“He doesn't remember me or pretending not to.” Marley discreetly spoke to someone over the phone.
“I need to find out. I need to get closer to him. I need to find the culprit for my father's death.”
“I'm not thinking things. He is involved one wa
y or the other and I'm going to find out how. And if he is involved, I'm going to bring Anthonio Kalvey to his ruin.” Marley snarled.
“That I promise.”
To all my readers that has come this far with me, I want to say a big thank you.We have finally come to the end of A Deal With The Billionaire.
Anthonio's brows creased as the sun reflected on his face.He woke up with a start, then he turned, and his eyes fell on Marley.She was dressed in his shirt, and her hair was sprawled on his pillow.Anthonio faced her completely and watched her, his eyes taking in the beauty of her face.She stirred, and her eyes fluttered open. She stared straight into his eyes.Grey eyes locked with blue eyes."Good morning, sweetheart."Marley gave him a lazy smile. "Good morning, Mr Kalvey.""Can you stop calling me that?" He pouted, and Marley chuckled.She stretched and glanced at the time."Shit, how long have I been sleeping?" She made to get up, but Anthonio dragged her down."Anthonio...""Shhh..." Anthonio laid a finger on her lips. "Stay a little longer."Marley sighed, but she didn't get up.Anthonio took hold of her left hand and stared at it thoughtfully."I've been thinking..."Marley watched him turn her hand, and he brought it to his lips and placed a kiss there."How about we make
Mouse grabbed her neck and crushed his lips against hers.He had been fascinated by this moment for the past three weeks.He had watched her when she wasn't looking and had found her sexy when she had slit that man's throat in the warehouse.She was a fierce woman, and that was what he loved about her.She moaned into his mouth, and he deepened the kiss, dragging her lips with his teeth enough to bruise.He gripped her bottom and drew her close enough for her to feel the imprint in his trousers.Moans came out of her as he broke the kiss and trailed his lips on the nape of her throat."Mousey..." She moaned and whimpered when he bit her collarbone."Call me that one more time and I'll wreck you.""Do it. Break me." He raised his head and saw the smirk on her lips.Crazy woman.Just the way he liked it.He turned her to face the wall and lifted her shirt up and over her head. He flung it aside, then he went for her bra and unhooked it.He cupped one of her breasts from behind and sque
"Why did you invite her?" Cordelia came to stand beside Marley as she watched Anthonio and Benita seated on the couch talking to each other.Marley shifted from the wall she leaned on and shrugged."I felt like they had to talk. And also Benita begged me. She is leaving.""Mmmm... She better do."Marley glanced at them again, then she started walking away, and Cordelia followed right after."I... I am leaving." Benita said quietly.Anthonio didn't reply. He just stared at her."I came to ask for your forgiveness." Benita fumbled with her hands. "I cheated on you and also broke your heart. For that, Anthonio, I'm so sorry."Anthonio clicked his tongue. "What is done is done, Benita. I'm past that now.""I should have also told you about Mandy. I was about to, but I was stabbed, so when I woke up I was scared she would kill me, and that was why I ran away." Benita sniffled. "I'm sorry.""It's okay," Anthonio said. "We should forget about the past and just move on. You can do that, right
Marley didn't go back into the court room, instead she texted Cordelia and told her about Anthonio regaining consciousness. Then she ran out of the court and ignored the reporters already gathering around her.She wove through them and boarded a cab.She clenched her phone in her hands as the cab drove to the hospital. She got down immediately, paid the driver, and ran into the hospital, heading for Anthonio's ward.She rushed in and stopped in her tracks.Mrs Kalvey was laughing over something Anthonio said, and both mother and son looked in her direction.Mrs Kalvey shifted aside, and Marley came forward slowly till she was beside his bed.Anthonio's eyes roamed over her like he had been starved for days, and then he opened his lips and spoke."Hey."Marley gulped. "Hey.""I should leave you both to catch up." They hardly heard Mrs Kalvey's voice as they stared at each other."I heard you were by my side throughout my unconsciousness.""That was the least I could do for someone who
Marley dipped the small towel in a bowl of water, then she squeezed it and brought it up to Anthonio's face. She wiped gently.The oxygen was gone, but he was yet to wake up. It was now three weeks, and everyone was eagerly waiting for him.Marley paused when she got to his lips, and she replaced the towel with her fingers, and it trailed the lines softly.She missed him. She missed hearing his voice and missed how he argued and fought with her.She missed everything about him.It was time to stop denying what she felt.What she felt for him five years ago was still alive, and now it was deeper.She still didn't want to put a name to it until he woke up.The door opened softly, and she jerked her hand away from his face and glanced up.Mouse came in and stared at Anthonio for a moment. Then he faced Marley."How have you been?"She nodded. "Have you eaten?"Marley shook her head. "I'll eat soon.""I knew you would say that." Mouse held out the plastic bag in his hand. "I brought food
“I was told you stood up your interviewer today.” Peter banged into Anthonio’s office.Anthonio didn't move his gaze away from his computer. “Next time you come to my office don't bang in.”“Oww come on man. Why didn't you go for the interview?”“I had things to settle.”“And it couldn't wait?”Thi
Marley lifted her chin defiantly.“You have no right.”“I have all the right Miss Neils. You are bound to me for six months as my bride.” He replied, and his eyes moved over her face, lingering at her lips.“And even the right to kiss you right here.” He whispered.Marley hiccuped. He was standing
Marley stood outside Sheinds Palace and waited for Mandy.She knew it was crazy to invite her over without Anthonio's permission but she knew what she was doing.She needs a distraction and Mandy will serve as that.A SUV drove into the driveway and Mandy got out.She came towards Marley, smiling f
“You will be the one interviewing Anthonio Kalvey.”“What?” Marley looked at her boss with astonished eyes.“You heard me Miss Neils. Do a research about him before the day of the interview.”“But..” Marley was interrupted by her boss.“No buts.” Her boss said dismissively.Marley clenched her hand
