MasukMarley looked for any form of recognition from him but found none.
He didn't recognize her.
Marley had a flashback.
Flashback
“Daddy who is he?” A younger Marley asked her father gesturing to the unconscious man lying on the bed with bandage around his head and arm.
“Someone dear. I found him in the river while fishing.” Her father replied her while arranging some pills on the table.
Her father was a traditional doctor who enjoyed fishing in his leisure.
Marley adjusted her thick rimmed glasses and went over to the unconscious man on the bed.
She looked down at him.
He had cuts on his face and lips but he was handsome nonetheless.
“I need to go get some herbs in the garden. Watch over him dear.” Her father left leaving her alone with the stranger.
Marley sat down beside the bed still admiring him.
He mumbled something shaking violently and Marley laid her hand on his quivering hand worriedly.
He calmed down after awhile and opened his eyes slowly.
Marley stared into an ocean blue eyes. The eyes roamed all over her face then across the room then back at her. It was now filled with confusion.
“Hello.” Marley greeted him awkwardly.
“Where am I? Who are you?” His voice was crooked and he tried to sit up but groaned in pain.
“I'll suggest you don't try to sit up sir. My father said he found you in the river with bruises. He has been taking care of you for the past three days and you have been unconscious since.” Marley filled him in.
“What's your name?” She asked him.
The man stared at her. “Anthonio.”
“Anthonio…..” The name rolled off her tongue and she smiled at him.
He didn't smile back but kept on looking at her before realization hit her.
“Ohh my name? Neils. My name is Neils.”
“Isn't that a man's name?” He mumbled but Marley heard him.
“It seems your head is still on track.” It was meant as a joke but Anthonio wasn't smiling.
“I see you can't take a joke. Well Neils is my middle name, I prefer it over my first name. My first name is too girly.”
“So just call me Neils okay?” At that moment her father came in with the herbs.
BACK TO THE PRESENT
Marley swallowed the bile in her throat.
It had been five years ago and even though she had grown older and her features more toned and matured and without any glasses to hide her grey eyes, he wasn't supposed to forget her.
About everything.
Was he pretending or had he lost his memories as the doctors said in the tabloid?
He surely shouldn't have forgotten he was the cause of her father's death, a man who was just offering help to a dying stranger.
Her chest tightened and she struggled to breath.
“Miss Neils?”
Marley turned to see everyone's eyes on her.
Everything was already set up and Anthonio was already sitted. They were waiting for her.
She inhaled inwardly and sat down on the chair opposite him.
She needed to calm down.
She took the questionnaire slips and gave the camera crew cue to start.
“Good day viewers, we have a very special guest with us today, who plans to share a bit of his life's experiences with us.” Marley held on for an heartbeat to make the audience anticipate.
“Anthonio Kalvey.”
She moved on with the questions, of his beginnings and motivation.
He answered eloquently.
Marley's hand tightened on the paper when she came to a certain question.
She looked at him and met his eyes.
“Hmmm, Mr Kalvey, this question has been on every netizen mind and it is about five years ago.”
She saw his lips draw into a thin line.
“What really happened? Was what the tabloids and Internet said true? It was said your car flew over the bridge and you drowned.”
Marley waited for his answer. For any clue that he remembered everything but Anthonio kept quiet, his ocean blue eyes a darker shade now.
“Mr Kalvey?”
“Didn't my secretary tell you guys that questions about the past and accidents won't be tolerated?” His voice was a deeper baritone now.
“Hmmm.” Marley gestured to the camera crew and they understood pausing the recording.
“She was shown the questionnaire and she had no problem with it.” Marley replied him.
Mrs Bling was already sweating in her pants. “I'm sorry sir, but Mr Peter said we shouldn't exempt those questions that it will be better to ease everyone's curiosity.”
Anthonio snickered. “Whose secretary are you?”
“I'm so sorry sir.”
“You are fired.” Anthonio declared and the secretary knelt down begging but Anthonio just sat there feeling unaffected.
Marley watched everything in silence observing him.
He had really changed. Alot. She felt and saw it.
His aura was cold and ruthless.
Anthonio placed a call to someone. “Pack all Mrs Bling belongings immediately. I mustn't meet it there when I come.” He ended the call and glanced over at Marley.
“Don't ask me those questions again. They are my buried past.”
Mrs Bling was still bawling and two securities came out of nowhere and dragged her out.
“Understood sir.” Marley said.
The camera crew hit the recording button and Marley asked him the remaining questions.

“Hello boss.”
“What did you find out?”
“Nothing boss. Absolutely nothing, no birth certificate, no knowledge of an high school or college. Just that she has worked in CNS for three years.”
“It's so strange boss. Marley Neils identity only exist around CNS.”
“Okay Bruno. Keep digging for more.” Anthonio ended the call.
~~~~~~~~
“He doesn't remember me or pretending not to.” Marley discreetly spoke to someone over the phone.
“I need to find out. I need to get closer to him. I need to find the culprit for my father's death.”
“I'm not thinking things. He is involved one wa
y or the other and I'm going to find out how. And if he is involved, I'm going to bring Anthonio Kalvey to his ruin.” Marley snarled.
“That I promise.”
Anthonio stared at her before nodding. “How are we going to get him?”Marley stood up and began to pace the room. “Peter appears to be working for someone. He surely didn't do this alone, he must have an accomplice and we are going to use him to get them.”“How?” Cordelia asked this time and Marley sighed and shrugged. “I don't know yet. We should work on something, do any of you have an idea or a plan on how to get him?”“Peter is not the kind of person to act on impulse. He has always been calculating and smart and that was one of the attributes that made me hire him as my assistant years ago.” Anthonio said.“We have to get him at all costs.” The three of them stared at blank spaces trying to think of a plan.Cordelia groaned. “I can't think of a plan.”“Me neither.” Marley agreed and they both glanced at Anthonio and he shook his head.“Okay.” Marley held her hands up. “I think we should give it a rest today, then come up with a plan and meet again tomorrow, deal?”They nodded.
Captain stormed into his father's office and met him on his way out.Commander stopped in his tracks and Captain walked close to him.He was an inch taller than his father, and being this close, with fury burning in him, made him look dangerous.“The look on your face tells me Neils has told you about my decision.”“How could you take her off the mission? A mission you knew meant the world to her?”“I'm doing what is best for her.”“No!” Captain thundered. “You are doing what is only best for you and your sister's bastard child.” Commander hissed. “Watch it.”“You are taking this too far Commander. I did what you said I should do and didn't tell Neils what I found out, but I see that I made a big mistake. Maybe if I had told her everything she wouldn't think I betrayed her.”“Telling her everything will only put her in danger.”“Fuck that Dad. You don't care about anyone only about what you would benefit from.” He shifted closer, his face inches from the commander's. “Are you scared
“I want you off the mission.”Marley felt her heart stop and thought she hadn't heard correctly.“What?”“I want you off the mission,” Commander repeated. “Vick is working on a drug homicide, you will be helping her out.”Marley stared at him unable to believe what he was saying.“What do you mean? I can't leave the mission. You know what it means to me.”“You have been on this mission for three years and I think that is more than enough. I'll be handing it over to someone more responsible…”“Are you saying I'm not responsible?” Marley snapped.“You won't speak to me in that manner young lady. I have been watching you Neils, you know the rules, no sentiment when you are on a mission but I think you are letting your feelings come into this mission.”“Are you talking about the news article? You know it's not true…..”“I'm not talking about the damn articles, I'm talking about what you are hiding from the headquarters. You've withheld information, ignored protocol, and allowed yourself t
Marley stared at the headline written boldly on her phone screen.The comments under the news were nasty, each one had something bad to say about her. People she was certain had never even met her.Anthonio took the phone from her hand and his face darkened instantly.He picked up his phone from the table and dialed a number.“Bruno, I want every news article talking about my marriage taken down this instant."“You have seen it,” Bruno said and he heard Bruno sigh over the line. “I tried bringing it down immediately I saw it but for an unknown reason I couldn't, instead it is topping the news.”“Who owns that news station?”“I couldn't find the name of the CEO, and nobody knows who the founder is,” Bruno replied.“I don't care. Sue them.” Anthonio said coldly, fury igniting in his insides.Marley's phone rang in his hand, and he saw ‘Headquarters’ written on the caller ID before she took the phone away.She stared at the phone for a few seconds before picking up.“Sergeant.” Commander
Marley's eyes fluttered but she didn't open her eyes. She felt the sunlight on her face and grumbled, then opened her eyes and shut them immediately. The sunlight poking from outside was too bright. Marley opened her eyes again and yawned, then she looked at her side. It was empty. Anthonio wasn't here, but the indentation on the pillow showed he had slept there. The sting in her core reminded her of last night and what they had done. She had screamed all night, coming to her orgasm again and again and still begged for more. She felt a wetness pooling in her clit just at the thought of last night, of how Anthonio had held her in his arms and how he had shivered and groaned when he had come to his release. She realized she wanted it again. She wanted to have sex with Anthonio again. She had crossed the line last night and had let him break down the walls she had struggled to build around her heart. She had felt the walls crumble to the ground immediately his lips brushed agains
Anthonio deepened the kiss and Marley sighed into his mouth.Anthonio kissed her gently at first but then his pace changed and he began devouring her lips, sucking on her lower lip then nibbling at the upper one, not giving Marley the chance to breathe.Marley's hands came up and she rubbed his back roughly leaning into him and trying to match his pace.She felt his lips push her lips wide and she opened up.His tongue dived in and tangled with her.It tasted all too good and Marley wished it could go on forever but Anthonio released her lips with a pop and brought his head lower tracing kisses on her neck down to her collarbone and he sucked deep giving her a hickey and then his tongue licked it.Marley moaned and her fingers grasped his hair.His head moved going down to the top of her cleavage which was exposed a little and he sucked the flesh.His hand came up to her strap that held the dress at the back and he snapped it off making the dress droop down and her breast sprang free
A woman stood at the threshold of the Australia airport.“Home sweet home.” She breathed in and removed her dark shades.“Where is he?” She glanced at her wrist watch.“Benita.” She turned her head to the voice and smiled.“Peter.”Peter stepped up to her and hugged her.“Why are you just coming no
“Hey, girlie.”Marley's stomach churned at the voice. No one needed to tell her who was calling.How did this crook get her number?“It isn't three weeks yet Don.”“Yeah, I know girlie. I'm just checking up on you, in case you wanna pull any funny business I just wanted you to know you can't run aw
Mrs. Kalvey opened the door and welcomed someone in.Anthonio's eyes darkened when he saw who it was.Benita.“What the….” Mandy gasped behind Anthonio, also not expecting Benita to be here.Benita smiled awkwardly at the two siblings whose eyes were sending daggers her way.Mrs. Kalvey broke the t
Marley moved quietly in that direction, her heart thumping fast.She knew it was foolish to follow someone who may be dangerous or armed without being armed herself.She had forgotten to take her pocket knife with her, so now she was left with her fists.She reached the end and turned sharply to th
