"Kera, are you ok?" Scarlet touched her shoulder to feel it shaking.

"No, my father killed my mother. He then lied that Horatio was the one who had done it. Why would he do that?" Kera cried.

Horatio leaned his head to the side. "Matthew killed Catherine? I thought-" he paused to think about it.

"He told me she went out to seek some information. When your mother didn't return, he went to look for her, then later came back saying she was dead." Horatio placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry that this happened to you, and I never had a hand in the death of your mother."

Kera wiped at her nose. "I know you don't. I saw when he did it in their room. He said he saw you leaving the room and that I mustn't trust you, but he didn't know I saw the entire thing, he must have read my mind and that's why he took me to Magnus, but why did he kill mom?" Kera sobbed. "He never taught me anything. Mom was the one to always tell things and show me how to use my powers, so why did he kill her?"
