The abyss had no sound, no light, no breath. Only suffocation. Only absence. His body convulsed as if drowning. The shadows wrapped around him like chains, pulling him deeper into the nothing.

His fire tried to flare, faint sparks licked across his chest, the bond-flame that tied him to Sera still struggling, but the void devoured it instantly.
