Naomi’s POV

You can never wake someone who’s pretending to sleep, and Adrian wouldn’t give the doctor’s words a second thought. Likewise, I can’t change my family’s prejudice against me.

Only I know that Lily threatened the family doctor with his daughter’s life and poisoned the blood bag, which is why she staged this whole frame-up. But none of that matters anymore.

Adrian walked out of the room, ran his fingers through his hair in frustration, and complained to my parents, “I don’t understand. Naomi has been donating blood to Lily for three years—why can’t she stand her now? I know Naomi feels wronged, but Lily has been tormented by her illness to the point of depression. She’s in a fragile state and prone to suicidal thoughts. We can’t just stand by and watch Lily die, can we?”

I thought souls didn’t shed tears, and I figured that if Adrian could see me, I would look terrible.

I should have realized long ago that even though Adrian and Lily hadn’t slept together, his heart had already strayed. Lily would snuggle up against his shoulder, sitting in the passenger seat that was meant for me, completely oblivious to my unease as I trailed behind them.

They didn’t do anything, yet they worked overtime together, shared the same set of utensils, and even when Lily was giving me a hard time, he never spoke up. Adrian fell asleep in the car, and when she stole a kiss from him, he didn’t even push her away.

I wanted to play dumb, but even that couldn’t hide certain facts. Over the years, Lily would often send him cute selfies, and he’d reply every single time. Yet he’d never saved my number in his phone. We’d argued about it, and he’d always say, “I’m just being too petty.” “Nothing ever happened between Lily and me.”

“Even though you never whispered those intimate words to Lily, you did fall for her, didn’t you?” During our cold war, I finally spoke my mind. He held me tight, refusing to let me go. I hated myself for loving him so deeply.

Just then, Lily pretended to faint, and from my vantage point, I could see her glaring at me with a vicious look: “Naomi, what gives you the right to compete with me?”

Adrian hesitated. He let go of my hand, his gaze shifting nervously, and rushed into the hospital with Lily in his arms.

At that moment, I knew our relationship was over.

During this cold war, Adrian never once called me on his own, as if he were certain I would come back to him.

The thug suddenly lunged at me, I hadn’t seen it coming at all. He raised the baseball bat high and swung it viciously at my head. I instinctively dodged to the side just in time. But before I could catch my breath, the bat came crashing down on my legs. Intense pain instantly swept through my body, and I could barely stand.

But I didn’t dare linger for even a moment; I ran with all my might toward home, struggling to get back up every time I fell. The thug, clutching a blood-soaked baseball bat, dragged it across the ground, leaving a long, glaring scratch in his wake. His bloodshot eyes fixed on me like those of a wild beast out of control. He kept chasing me relentlessly, showing no sign of stopping.

I fell down, and he pounced on me, tearing at my clothes. I grabbed his hand and bit down hard until it bled, then crawled to the side.

In desperation, I pulled out my phone and dialed Adrian’s number. His response was icy: “Lily’s in the ER, did you really have to call me at a time like this?!”

I managed to keep my chastity, but my resistance completely enraged the thug. He struck me on the head with a bat, and I lost all breath. Even as I closed my eyes, I still didn’t know why he had my family’s baseball bat, but it didn’t matter anymore.

Adrian was still talking on the phone, while I lay in a pool of blood, listening to his cold and distant voice.

He said, “Naomi, if you call me again, I’ll never forgive you.”

A wry, despairing smile played at the corners of my mouth. “But Adrian, I can’t threaten you anymore. You can have Lily.”

My recollections were finally interrupted by the doorbell ringing suddenly at that moment.

Father frowned. “Who is it at a time like this?” he said. He turned and walked out of the room. Adrian followed him, and I followed them.

As soon as the door opened, two police officers were standing outside.

“Good evening,” one of them said. “We’re looking for Naomi Cole.”

The entire venue fell silent.

  • After I Died, My Husband Went Mad   Chapter 11:End - I Will Respect You

Naomi's POV (Mira)On the first day, my parents came with flowers. Dad helped carry boxes, while Mom arranged snacks for the guests as if it were a family celebration. When I looked at them standing in my studio, I felt warmth spread through my chest. This was what home should have been. It was a place where I could simply exist and still be cherished. I didn't need to compete for love. That evening, after the guests left, I stood alone by the window. My reflection looked nothing like Naomi, but my eyes still carried her memories. I touched the glass lightly and whispered to the girl from my last life.“You suffered enough. This time, we’re going to live well.”I met Ethan Carter on a rainy afternoon at my studio. He came in holding a broken gift box in his hand. His younger sister had ordered a custom necklace case from me, but the delivery

Naomi’s POVI watched them for a long time, but I no longer hated them as much as I once did. Their pain came too late. They had loved the wrong daughter, protected the wrong person, and buried the real one with their own coldness. When I saw Adrian’s lifeless body, I felt quite sad. I had once loved him more than I loved myself, but that Naomi had died in the garden. The soul that remained no longer wanted to follow him.One day, Mom and Dad came to my grave in the rain. They knelt in the mud, soaked and shaking, begging me to forgive them. Dad cried until his voice broke, while Mom kept touching the name on my tombstone as if she could feel my face beneath her fingers.“My daughter,” she whispered. “Mom was wrong. Mom should have loved you.”I stood in front of them, watching the rain slide through my transparent hands. Once, I would have giv

Naomi’s POVLily knelt on the floor, clutching the edge of Adrian’s trouser leg, tears pouring down her face. “Adrian, please. I didn’t mean to kill her. I only wanted to scare her.”Adrian looked down at her without the slightest pity.“Stop saying you didn’t mean it,” he said coldly. “Naomi is dead.”Lily shook her head hard. “I can make it up to you. I can stay by your side. I can love you better than she ever did.”Adrian’s expression changed. He bent down and pulled her hand away from him. “You are not worthy of speaking about love.”Lily was dragged away that night. She kept screaming Adrian’s name, then Mom and Dad’s. But nobody came forward.Lily was sent to court. The

Naomi’s POVAfter leaving the cemetery, Adrian returned to the villa with my urn in his arms. The house was quiet. The servants lowered their heads when they saw him. He walked past all of them, his eyes fixed on the small white urn pressed against his chest. That was all I had become. A name on a stone. A handful of ashes.A person they only loved after she was dead.Adrian went straight to our bedroom. The room still looked the same as before, but it felt colder now. My clothes were still in the closet. My cup was still on the table. The pillow on my side of the bed had not been moved. He placed the urn beside that pillow, then sat on the edge of the bed.For a long time, he only stared at it.A maid finally gathered the courage to step inside. “Sir,” she said carefully, “this… may not be appropriate. Keeping ashes in the bedroom is unlucky.”Adrian slowly raised his head. The maid fell silent at once.“Unlucky?” he repeated, calmly.“She called me while she was dying,” he said. “I

  • After I Died, My Husband Went Mad   Chapter 7: She's Finally Gone

Naomi’s POVAdrian rushed back to the Kesly house before noon, with my old phone. Mom and Dad were in the living room. Neither of them had slept well. Their faces looked pale, and their eyes were swollen.Dad saw the phone in Adrian’s hand and stood up. “Did you find something?”Adrian did not answer at once. He opened the folder I had hidden and placed the phone on the table. The first video began to play.It was recorded in the hallway outside Lily’s room. My voice was low but clear.“Lily, your medical report is fake. You’re not sick as you told everyone. I’m going to show Mom, Dad, and Adrian everything.”Then Lily’s voice came through, calm and cruel.“Go ahead. Tell them.”A short laugh followed.“Do you think they’ll believe you? Naomi, you gave me blood for three years because I made them think I would die without it. They chose me every time. Even Adrian chose me. What do you think will change now?”Mom’s hand flew to her mouth.Dad’s face turned gray.In the video, my voice

Naomi’s POVMy funeral was held three days later. Many people came. Some cried for me. Some only came because they knew the family. I stood beside my coffin and watched them place flowers near my photo. In the photo, I was smiling gently.I almost couldn’t recognize myself.Adrian stood in front, dressed in black. His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like he hadn’t slept at all. Mom sat beside the coffin, clutching my photo tightly. Dad stood behind her, silent and old in a way I had never seen before. Then Lily came. She wore a pale dress and walked in with weak steps, as if she were the one everyone should pity.“Adrian,” she said softly. “I know you’re hurting. Naomi wouldn’t want to see you like this.”Adrian slowly turned to look at her but there was no softness in his eyes.“Don’t say her name,” he said.Lily froze. “I only wanted to comfort you.”“Take her away,” Adrian said to the guards.Lily’s face went pale. “Adrian…”“I said take her away.”The guards stepped forward a
