What’s wrong with you?

Violet's POV

“Mate, mate!” My wolf chanted restlessly in my head as I stared at the most gorgeous blue eyes.

Just like me, his eyes widened in disbelief, his brows etched with a frown while staring at me.

I couldn't believe this.

Was this possible?

Just minutes ago, I had been wailing at the thought of ever finding my mate and just like some magic he appears?

“Hey! Violet! Are you dumb?! Get on with the orders!” Joyce snapped at me, her fist hitting the counter with a bang, sending me out of my reverie.

“Oh, ugh,” I stammered, a blush creeping onto my face as mild panic set in. “Right, s–sorry. What would you like to order?”

I said, trying to give out the best smile I could while internally panicking.

Deep down, I knew I looked like shit.

I so totally looked like shit, but be cool Violet, you can do this.

It's only your mate. It's not the end of the world.

You can do this.

The boys around him gave me weird stares.

They were about four of them altogether, with my mate towering over them with a head or two.

“We'll have two large Expressos to go, one black coffee and a cup of choco. Add pastries as many as four hungry werewolves can eat.”

I nodded, pressing my lips into a thin line while I took their orders.

And so, by some miracle, I was able to pass their orders without embarrassing myself. Thankfully.

Sneaking a few glances towards them, I couldn't help staring at my mate.

He was tall, I noted.

So tall, I feared what his wolf would look like if we both shifted and stood side by side.

I ran my tongue over my lips, my eyes widening as I caught sight of his deep gaze on my lips.

A flicker flashed through his deep blue orbs, and I stiffened, noticing the small tick in his clenched jaw, my face lighting up like a Christmas tree.

My gaze flickered to his face, our gazes locking once again as I studied his features silently.

Aside from being tall, my mate was muscular, fat filling his body all in the right places. His hair was dyed a deep red, with dark hair undergrowths peeking from his scalp.

I noticed a stud on his left ear, the jewelry complimenting his features.

He looked like a playboy, but that didn't scare me. Not when he was close to losing his shit for me.

“Hey man, what's wrong with you?” One of his friends asked, nudging him with an elbow to the rib. “You keep staring into space.”

At that, they all turned to him, and I watched his nose flare, my wolf and I purring at the fact that we made him like this.

“It's nothing.” He said, shaking his head, but his friends gave him a skeptical look. “All right, if you say so.”

Turning to me, his friend’s eyes blazed with anger, “what's with the hold up? We've been waiting for what feels like hours already!”

“S–sorry, I will hurry the staff at the back.” I stuttered before running out back to get their orders moving.

Coming back as fast I could, I ran into a snippet of their conversation, my ears perking up.

“Hey Ezekiel, wanna hang out tonight?” A boy with braids asked, his brown eyes glinting with mischief. “It's been a while, I am sure you are dying to get the party started.

My breath caught in my throat as I heard my mate laugh, my wolf and I registered the pleasant sound that made my heart flutter along with his name.

Dear goddess, I was in euphoria.

I melted, while trying my best to become an unnoticed cardboard.

“I am sorry but I can't,” Ezekiel said after a chuckle, his sparkling blue eyes catching light as he tilted his head. “My dear father wishes for me to handle things.”

Silence fell over the group briefly, and I couldn't help but scrunch my nose at his answer.

Was he a father's boy?

Before I could judge, Joyce strode out with the bag of orders, her overly cheery voice causing me to revert to my timid nature as she shoved me aside.

“Here you go, Alpha Ezekiel.” She beamed, sending her killer dimpled smile at him. “I am sorry for the wait, I was making extra for you all.”

I froze.

Even at the very beginning my mind had gone blank.

Alpha?

I stared at my mate, his eyes somehow finding mine once more as the Aura of his title washed through me.

Now it clicked.

No wonder.

No wonder he mentioned his father wanting him to do things.

How could I have forgotten about an important matter like this?

Two months ago, we lost our Luna to a rogue attack, and the Alpha promised to step down as soon as his son arrived.

Rumor has it he was supposed to come back today.

And now… he was here.

I knew I’d lost this fight already. Being mated to a playboy who would succeed his father as the Alpha of the pack? Yeah, he definitely had eyes for other girls out there.

I was not in his league, and I never would be. I let out a small sigh as the little hope I’d been holding that maybe I’d actually have a mate, slipped away, leaving my mind annoyingly blank.

A few minutes passed with no orders, so I used the time to take a deep breath. My arms rested on the counter as I stared at the boys chatting, looking like they’d just stepped out of heaven or something.

My mate was focused on his device, scrolling through something that seemed to make him smile. Or… was I the one making him smile? No, probably not. Why would I be?

I glanced at my dress again. Maybe he’d be nice enough to come over, say something, and properly reject me instead of just… leaving me hanging like this.

He looked like a playboy, and if he was actually excited to have me as a mate, he wouldn’t be sitting there sneaking glances. He’d have at least waved. I get it.

Since our Luna died two months ago, it’s been rough on the Alpha. But he promised not to choose another Luna after her. Instead, he swore to give us an even stronger reign, one that would stop any kind of rogue attack, like the one that killed her.

The Alpha will waste no time handing the throne over to his son. And he’ll need a strong wolf to rule by his side.

Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But rejection? Yeah… as inevitable as the next full moon.

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    Enough research

Violet's POV “The fact that you still recognize me after five years means you’ve missed me so much. I miss you too, a lot. Open the door, Violet, and let’s have the discussion we haven’t had in years,” Owen said through the peephole as he stood in front of the door. I let out a small scoff as I relaxed on the chair, doing my best to ignore all his words. I was grateful that I had gotten inside and locked the door just in time. He could have been giving me a hard time now. Once an idiot, always an idiot. Couldn’t he at least realize that I wasn’t the same Violet I was five years ago? Did he think I would still be scared of what my father might say if I ignored his advances? He kept on speaking until he got tired and left. I let out a loud breath, and a minute later, a soft knock came on the door again. I quickly got up to open it. As my hand rested on the doorknob, doubts rushed into my mind. What if it was Owen trying to play a trick on me? “Who’s there?” I asked. I had to make s

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    Are we disturbing you?

Violet's POV There was a soft knock on the door, and before I could answer, those knocking came in with smiles on their faces. Ezekiel must have told them where I was...just as he promised, or maybe threatened, to. But why were they smiling as they walked in? Weren’t they supposed to act like they used to? Weren’t they the same friends who had always advised Ezekiel against choosing me as his mate? Even though they never said it in my presence, rumor had it that they did behind my back...and I had, at one time, overheard whispers of it. But it’s been five years, and things have already changed. They must have learned more about life by now. They must have realized why they should never have treated me as a stranger or as some tool for banishment. “Hey, Violet. We came to say hello.” The one who entered first said this with his hand stretched out for a shake. I accepted warmly, smiling back. He carried himself like the Beta...friendly, but professional. The other two waved, just

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    Will you stay behind?

Violet's POV “I saw that the two of you were exchanging words while I was addressing the wolves. Was it an exchange of love or of argument? I assume it was love, but I need you to answer me.” Ezekiel faced us and asked, but Kira looked the other way, ignoring him. “I think she’s the Kira I’ve heard about. You really should stick to her, Ezekiel. And let me remind you, it’s already been five days. You can skip the two days left. Stay here in the pack with Kira...she matches your vibe,” I said without flinching. He let out a small sigh, then grabbed my arm and pulled me back when I tried to walk away. “Kira, you know how well I can handle you when you don’t listen to me. Answer the question I asked, or I’ll make sure you sleep in the cell tonight,” Ezekiel said to the supposed Luna of the pack. I let out a small laugh. Was this how he would control me if I were in Kira’s shoes? “We were only getting to know each other. And besides, you know I’m pregnant with your child. I shouldn’t h

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    The wolves are watching us

Violet's POV The black Jeep rolled into Ezekiel’s pack as he drove swiftly into the car park and stopped. I let out a little sigh, glancing at Simon while rubbing my palms together. I was truly back in his pack, and for a moment, it felt like Ezekiel had no plans to return to Sebastian’s. Almost as if his little scheme was to keep me tied here instead. We stepped down from the Jeep as the welcoming team ushered us toward one of the large halls where Ezekiel had supposedly held his mating ceremony. I walked in with a faint smile, nearly reaching for Simon’s hand, but Ezekiel quickly seized mine instead and led me in, brushing his shoulder against Simon’s on purpose. Simon didn’t react. Maybe it was because Sebastian was present in the hall. I wondered why he didn’t want Sebastian to see him with me. Perhaps he feared Sebastian wouldn’t believe him if he claimed he was only joking about finding a mate, that the whole break had been a lie. Wolves erupted with cheers as we entered the

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    What took you so long?

Violet's POV Several knocks on the door jolted me awake, my eyes staring straight at the ceiling. Then I rolled them across the walls, the floor, and the surroundings before my brain finally booted up and remembered where I was. One glance at the wall lock sent panic through me, and I quickly rose from the bed. Simon was bare-chested, wearing nothing but a towel, while I had on something much lighter than what I wore last night. What happened overnight? Or was I just overthinking it, since I couldn’t clearly remember anything? My eyes landed on a tray at the foot of the bed. The bottles reeked of strong alcohol and something toxic, and I began to wonder if Simon had drugged me to sleep last night. “You’re awake, Violet. Why are you leaving so early?” Simon asked as his eyes fluttered open. My heart raced with a thousand questions. “What happened to me? Why can’t I recall anything? It’s already 8 a.m., and I’m still here in this room. What do I tell the Alpha about this thin dress

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    Second chance bond

Violet's POV "You know I'm a mother and I have a daughter to attend to. Leave me alone for now, and we can talk later," I said to Simon in his room. I'd asked around where he stayed, and I kept searching until I found him. I noticed the bright smile on his face when he saw me at his doorstep. He locked the door and held the key with him as he took off his shirt, and I stared at his bare chest. I swallowed a lump in my throat as his scent suddenly washed over me. He was my second chance mate, and my wolf was screaming at me to accept him, but we could be making a huge mistake if we didn’t consider this carefully. "You don't want to leave me here. You were told to leave me instead. I'm sure the goddess brought you here, because there’s no way you could have had the intention to look for me in the pack," Simon said, still standing by the door while I sat on the bed staring back at him. "Alright. I can spare a few more minutes in here before leaving. I have to go because I need to prep
