Violet's POV
“Mate, mate!” My wolf chanted restlessly in my head as I stared at the most gorgeous blue eyes.
Just like me, his eyes widened in disbelief, his brows etched with a frown while staring at me.
I couldn't believe this.
Was this possible?
Just minutes ago, I had been wailing at the thought of ever finding my mate and just like some magic he appears?
“Hey! Violet! Are you dumb?! Get on with the orders!” Joyce snapped at me, her first hitting the counter with a bang, sending me out of my reverie.
“Oh, ugh,” I stammered, a blush creeping onto my face as mild panic set in. “Right, s–sorry. What would you like to order?”
I said, trying to give out the best smile I could while internally panicking.
Deep down, I knew I looked like shit.
I so totally looked like shit, but be cool Violet, you can do this.
It's only your mate. It's not the end of the world.
You can do this.
The boys around him gave me weird stares.
They were about four of them altogether, with my mate towering over them with a head or two.
“We'll have two large Expressos to go, one black coffee and a cup of choco. Add pastries as many as four hungry werewolves can eat.”
I nodded, pressing my lips into a thin line while I took their orders.
And so, by some miracle, I was able to pass their orders without embarrassing myself. Thankfully.
Sneaking a few glances towards my mate, I couldn't help but not stare at my mate.
He was tall, I noted.
So tall, I feared what his wolf would look like if we both shifted and stood side by side.
I ran my tongue over my lips, my eyes widening as I caught sight of his deep gaze on my lips.
A flicker flashed through his deep blue orbs, and I stiffened, noticing the small tick in his clenched jaw, my face lighting up like a Christmas tree.
My gaze flickered to his face, our gazes locking once again as I studied his features silently.
Aside from being tall, my mate was muscular, fat filling his body all in the right places. His hair was dyed a deep red, with dark hair undergrowths peeking from his scalp.
I noticed a stud on his left ear, the jewelry complimenting his features.
He looked like a playboy, but that didn't scare me. Not when he was close to losing his shit for me.
“Hey man, what's wrong with you?” One of his friends asked, nudging him with an elbow to the rib. “You keep staring into space.”
At that, they all turned to him, and I watched his nose flare, my wolf and I purring at the fact that we made him like this.
“It's nothing.” He said, shaking his head, but his friends gave him a skeptical look. “All right, if you say so.”
Turning to me, his friend’s eyes blazed with anger, “what's with the hold up? We've been waiting for what feels like hours already!”
“S–sorry, I will hurry the staff at the back.” I stuttered before running out back to get their orders moving.
Coming back as fast I could, I ran into a snippet of their conversation, my ears perking up.
“Hey Ezekiel, wanna hang out tonight?” A boy with braids asked, his brown eyes glinting with mischief. “It's been a while, I am sure you are dying to get the party started.
My breath caught in my throat as I heard my mate laugh, my wolf and I registered the pleasant sound that made my heart flutter along with his name.
Dear goddess, I was in euphoria.
I melted, while trying my best to become an unnoticed cardboard.
“I am sorry but I can't,” Ezekiel said after a chuckle, his sparkling blue eyes catching light as he tilted his head. “My dear father wishes for me to handle things.”
Silence fell over the group briefly, and I couldn't help but scrunch my nose at his answer.
Was he a father's boy?
Before I could judge, Joyce strode out with the bag of orders, her overly cheery voice causing me to revert to my timid nature as she shoved me aside.
“Here you go, Alpha Ezekiel.” She beamed, sending her killer dimpled smile at him. “I am sorry for the wait, I was making extra for you all.”
I froze.
Even at the very beginning my mind had gone blank.
Alpha?
I stared at my mate, his eyes somehow finding mine once more, his blue eyes flashing a deep red.
Now it clicked.
No wonder.
No wonder he mentioned his father wanting him to do things.
How could I have forgotten about an important matter like this.
Last week, we lost our Luna to a rogue attack, and due to the loss of his mate, the alpha had announced to step down earlier than expected, wanting to pass the mandate to his son who was away.
He was supposed to come back today.
By the time Ezekiel and his friends left, I had no idea.
I didn't register a thing not even while I worked, my mind going back to how dumb and fucked up I realized I was.
No wonder he didn't claim me.
A tear slipped past my eye as I thought.
Foolish of me to have given myself the illusion that I affected him.
How could I think for one that I was going to be loved, and everything was going to be alright?
This is the moon goddess' way of punishing me for taking my father's mate.
By blessing me with a mate that was going to reject me.
We were so different.
I was an Omega while he was an alpha. How was that supposed to work?
Especially with a cursed tag on my back?
Heading back home, I kicked at stones and weeds under my foot picking up dust.
The evening sun cast a glow around, warming everything it touched, but not me. Not my soul.
Everything felt like a joke. A joke the moon goddess decided to play on me since she was bored.
I felt my eyes sting, tears blurring my eyesight.
I wiped at the salty liquid, my heart clenching painfully in my chest.
My wolf, whined, retreating in the dark corner of my mind. She had tried comforting me, but it was useless.
First, we were still engaged to Owen, and second, our mate was out of our league.
So what's there to comfort?
Suddenly, I whipped my head up, my neck snapping painfully fast, I feared a whiplash, but then it happened.
Like in those dramas, my eyes met with the same blue eyes that had started to haunt me.
There he stood, towering over all, a smile on his lips, and his intimidating presence causing awe among the werewolves gathered around him.
And just like most dramas, his eyes slowly landed on me and we locked eyes once more.
I felt my world slow, his nose flaring once more.
I had no time to question his presence as he was awfully close to my house because the next thing I heard was my father's cursing.
“Would you stop staring like a moron and come greet your Fiance?”
I winced, as almost every eye dug on me. I lowered my head, avoiding his gaze as I made way to my front porch where Owen and my father stood with disapproving gazes.
“You wanna start wh*ring again?” My father snarled, grabbing me by the arm. “I warn you, don't have any funny ideas. The only person you are getting tied to is Owen. Now get inside!”
I fell to the ground, tears pricking my eyes at the cruel reminder.
I guess a rejection was going to be inevitable.

His friends remained though, one of them in particular throwing a scowl at me. My wolf whimpered under his gaze, the pressure the higher ranking wolf had on mine causing me to shiver.“Hey, would you quit eye fucking them?!” Joyce yelled, her shriek causing heads to snap in my direction.I paled, words fleeing my head as I tried to deny her words. “I– I am not!” I stammered, looking around nervously.I didn't want to be branded with a different name.Joyce however, didn't get the memo. She rolled her eyes at me, jabbing her perfectly manicured fingers in my direction. “Don't try that innocent shit with me, and get to work or else!” I glared at her, clenching my fists beside me while she left with an arrogant ‘humph.’I wish I could smack her in the face, but I c
Ezekiel's POV“Hey Daniel,” I called out to the goofy head amongst the four of us, my eyes drifting painfully to the little omega who worked skittishly around the counter. We were sitting in the cafe, a place I had grown to visit frequently just for my mate. “Yeah?” Daniel answered with a shrug, his bright yellow eyes flashing dully. “What's up?”I pursed my lips, forcing my gaze onto my friend Daniel. My wolf and I were fighting against each other and I really needed someone to talk to since Jeremy wasn't back in the pack yet. I sighed, running my hands through my hair. This damn little omega was doing fucked up things to my head. Finally, I jutted my chin towards the counter, Daniel's gaze following my action as his face scrunched in confusion.“Do you know anything about her?” I asked, trying to sound like I didn't care, but I knew I was failing. Daniel, picking up on what I said, sat straighter, gone was the lax atmosphere around him, and he peered at me with those yellow e

Why did it have to be my Patricia?” My father moaned sorrowfully on the beat up couch he sat on, empty boxes of pizzas and alcohol lying hazardly on the floor. His hurtful words echoed in my head, and I felt my heart clench painfully.Tears formed in my eyes as my wolf whimpered in my chest. It wasn't my fault.I wanted to scream out, but I knew it was useless.I let the tears in my eyes fall, looking up at my father's miserable figure. My father, Mike Stary was one of the top leading werewolves back in the day, with a company that boasted up to a million dollars a year, and even having a beautiful mate like my mother. He was happy, and life was good.
