What’s wrong with you?

Violet's POV

“Mate, mate!” My wolf chanted restlessly in my head as I stared at the most gorgeous blue eyes.

Just like me, his eyes widened in disbelief, his brows etched with a frown while staring at me.

I couldn't believe this.

Was this possible?

Just minutes ago, I had been wailing at the thought of ever finding my mate and just like some magic he appears?

“Hey! Violet! Are you dumb?! Get on with the orders!” Joyce snapped at me, her fist hitting the counter with a bang, sending me out of my reverie.

“Oh, ugh,” I stammered, a blush creeping onto my face as mild panic set in. “Right, s–sorry. What would you like to order?”

I said, trying to give out the best smile I could while internally panicking.

Deep down, I knew I looked like shit.

I so totally looked like shit, but be cool Violet, you can do this.

It's only your mate. It's not the end of the world.

You can do this.

The boys around him gave me weird stares.

They were about four of them altogether, with my mate towering over them with a head or two.

“We'll have two large Expressos to go, one black coffee and a cup of choco. Add pastries as many as four hungry werewolves can eat.”

I nodded, pressing my lips into a thin line while I took their orders.

And so, by some miracle, I was able to pass their orders without embarrassing myself. Thankfully.

Sneaking a few glances towards them, I couldn't help staring at my mate.

He was tall, I noted.

So tall, I feared what his wolf would look like if we both shifted and stood side by side.

I ran my tongue over my lips, my eyes widening as I caught sight of his deep gaze on my lips.

A flicker flashed through his deep blue orbs, and I stiffened, noticing the small tick in his clenched jaw, my face lighting up like a Christmas tree.

My gaze flickered to his face, our gazes locking once again as I studied his features silently.

Aside from being tall, my mate was muscular, fat filling his body all in the right places. His hair was dyed a deep red, with dark hair undergrowths peeking from his scalp.

I noticed a stud on his left ear, the jewelry complimenting his features.

He looked like a playboy, but that didn't scare me. Not when he was close to losing his shit for me.

“Hey man, what's wrong with you?” One of his friends asked, nudging him with an elbow to the rib. “You keep staring into space.”

At that, they all turned to him, and I watched his nose flare, my wolf and I purring at the fact that we made him like this.

“It's nothing.” He said, shaking his head, but his friends gave him a skeptical look. “All right, if you say so.”

Turning to me, his friend’s eyes blazed with anger, “what's with the hold up? We've been waiting for what feels like hours already!”

“S–sorry, I will hurry the staff at the back.” I stuttered before running out back to get their orders moving.

Coming back as fast I could, I ran into a snippet of their conversation, my ears perking up.

“Hey Ezekiel, wanna hang out tonight?” A boy with braids asked, his brown eyes glinting with mischief. “It's been a while, I am sure you are dying to get the party started.

My breath caught in my throat as I heard my mate laugh, my wolf and I registered the pleasant sound that made my heart flutter along with his name.

Dear goddess, I was in euphoria.

I melted, while trying my best to become an unnoticed cardboard.

“I am sorry but I can't,” Ezekiel said after a chuckle, his sparkling blue eyes catching light as he tilted his head. “My dear father wishes for me to handle things.”

Silence fell over the group briefly, and I couldn't help but scrunch my nose at his answer.

Was he a father's boy?

Before I could judge, Joyce strode out with the bag of orders, her overly cheery voice causing me to revert to my timid nature as she shoved me aside.

“Here you go, Alpha Ezekiel.” She beamed, sending her killer dimpled smile at him. “I am sorry for the wait, I was making extra for you all.”

I froze.

Even at the very beginning my mind had gone blank.

Alpha?

I stared at my mate, his eyes somehow finding mine once more as the Aura of his title washed through me.

Now it clicked.

No wonder.

No wonder he mentioned his father wanting him to do things.

How could I have forgotten about an important matter like this?

Two months ago, we lost our Luna to a rogue attack, and the Alpha promised to step down as soon as his son arrived.

Rumor has it he was supposed to come back today.

And now… he was here.

I knew I’d lost this fight already. Being mated to a playboy who would succeed his father as the Alpha of the pack? Yeah, he definitely had eyes for other girls out there.

I was not in his league, and I never would be. I let out a small sigh as the little hope I’d been holding that maybe I’d actually have a mate, slipped away, leaving my mind annoyingly blank.

A few minutes passed with no orders, so I used the time to take a deep breath. My arms rested on the counter as I stared at the boys chatting, looking like they’d just stepped out of heaven or something.

My mate was focused on his device, scrolling through something that seemed to make him smile. Or… was I the one making him smile? No, probably not. Why would I be?

I glanced at my dress again. Maybe he’d be nice enough to come over, say something, and properly reject me instead of just… leaving me hanging like this.

He looked like a playboy, and if he was actually excited to have me as a mate, he wouldn’t be sitting there sneaking glances. He’d have at least waved. I get it.

Since our Luna died two months ago, it’s been rough on the Alpha. But he promised not to choose another Luna after her. Instead, he swore to give us an even stronger reign, one that would stop any kind of rogue attack, like the one that killed her.

The Alpha will waste no time handing the throne over to his son. And he’ll need a strong wolf to rule by his side.

Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But rejection? Yeah… as inevitable as the next full moon.

Violet's POV"It's been two days since Ezekiel left the pack. I'm worried sick about his whereabouts." Diane complained, dropping off to the seat across from me. "Can you place the order for your wolves to find him?""Do you have any information on who was with him the last time you saw him in the pack?" I asked, detailing her answers."I was the one who asked him to get the skins of the deadliest of the rogues in the woods if he would like to survive the harshness of the new leadership. I didn't know he would take my words so seriously." Diane let out a deep breath as she complained."Are you aware that he belongs to the pack?" I asked, and repeated the question because I didn't receive a response."I know. He told me that he's a slave and shouldn't leave the pack for any reason, but he had to. I threatened him, and now, we need him to complete the spells." Diane concluded."How?""Because that's the requirement." She shrugged an arm as she shot back. "We need the blood of a special

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    The woods

Ezekiel's POVIt was the dead of the night. And I was alone in the woods, searching for the deadliest of the rogues. I needed to take them down to cut off their skins so I would survive in the new host pack of the region."Who are you?" Someone cocked a gun as I quickly turned towards the sound. I didn't see the face but the voice was crystal clear."I'm...I promise, I'm not here to hurt anyone." I said, gritting my teeth. "I just need to talk to my friend. He lives inside here. He's a hunter, just like you.""Who says I'm a hunter?" He replied boldly, firing a shot into the clouds. "Tell me the name of your hunter friend and I'll spare you.""I don't know his name. I promise you I'm not lying. It's a new friend and we didn't know each other's names. You can follow me to the spot where I'll talk to him. Please don't harm me. I'm only human." I lied to him.I saw the gun dropping and relief washed through me. "Thank you, man. I truly appreciate.""What exactly is a man looking for, dee

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    Reversal

Ezekiel's POV"Got a new apartment? I can keep my head in there, you know." I said to Marianna. "If not, then I'm not leaving here. And no spell will make me leave.""We need to kick these human beings out of the castle, but they're being helped by witches. I have been assigned to perform a counterattack spell, but that would require your absence. Your wolf is cursed and polluted and you can only get redemption from the goddess. Leave in peace or dark magic will neutralize your existence.""Are you threatening me?""Yes I am," Diane shot back." I was paid to get this done. You have ten minutes to decide what happens. You can keep living in the pack but without a purpose. Magic will neutralize every interesting aspect of your life. Ready?""I need to talk to Violet. She has to know that something as stupid as this is going on in her room in the host pack." I said, getting up to go. They stepped out of my way, giving me room to approach the door.I tried to open it but it didn't budge.

  • Alphas obsession: beg for your mate    The witches threat

Ezekiel's POV"You have the chance to work with me because of Isabel. Don't misuse this chance, Ezekiel." Violet had said to me last night. I was now her internal guard, now that my wolf has healed me already. My role was to stay inside her official room, make it clean always, making sure no one would get inside without her knowledge. That was much easier, and the pay was robust too. Perhaps by the end of six months I would gather enough money to purchase one of the packs under them, the same pack I'd once ruled. The doorbell rang and I got up to check who was there. Just as I guessed, it was Simon. He definitely believed she wasn't active enough to be in her office, so he came down to her room."She is not inside. I think you can check the office or the clinic." I said to his face. He rolled his eyes disgustingly at me before leaving. As soon as he did, a wave of pleasant scent wafted into my nostrils. The scent was familiar, but I couldn't figure out who owned it. I opened the door
