Alexa sat there, her eyes glowing with that familiar evil mischief they had all gotten used to.

Elder Orric exchanged glances with the other elders. He immediately guessed that what was about to happen wouldn't be good. He swallowed, eyes dimming with fear.

The chairs scraped against stone as the others filed out, heads down, hearts pounding. The heavy doors closed behind them.

Alexa rose gracefully, her eyes glittering. The real conversation was only just beginning.

“Elder Orric," she cooed, her legs crossing over each other as she walked towards him, her heels clicking noisily on the tile.

He swallowed again. “Luna Alexa!” He responded, head bowed.

Alexa smiled. “You really think my Alpha is a coward? You think he's a disgrace to his father, and not what the pack needs?"

Orric shook his head. "No. That's not what I…"

Alexa cut him short. “Oh no! Don't deny it now. Everyone is subject to their own opinion, you know. I totally understand."

Orric's eyes widened, his head finally ris

I froze. My breath caught in my throat. Something in his tone was off—too soft, and too sharp all at once. I met his eyes, searching his face. I couldn't recognize the look in his eyes, it was strange and intense… in an unsettling manner.I pulled back slightly, not enough to make it obvious, but enough to feel air again. He seemed to have noticed it, but his eyes were dark and unreadable so I could barely guess."You’re changing," I whispered, unsure if I meant him or me.He smirked, but it didn’t reach his eyes. "We all are."Behind us, a branch snapped. We both turned. Nathan stood at the edge of the trees, arms crossed, face unreadable. He didn’t say anything. Neither of us did.The moment passed. We packed the meat and made our way back, but I couldn’t shake the chill.NARRATOR'S POV The chamber was silent but for the soft, rhythmic drip of condensation hitting stone. The walls were laced with shadows, thick and unmoving. In the center of the room sat a sphere swirling, pale lig

MIRA'S POVI opened my eyes in a different place.I found myself standing on a cliff's edge, wrapped in mist and moonlight. The sea raged below, but it made no sound. Silence pressed in on my ears, and on my heart. Then it came: the first trial. The next thing I felt was pain stab my chest like a two-edged sword. I gasped, my eyes widening.I was back in the heart of Thane’s pack, surrounded and judged. I watched her spell out my sentence of banishment, the two words that had haunted me echoing through the hall. I tried to scream it wasn’t fair—that I had done nothing wrong—but my voice was gone. The eyes turned away. The shame wrapped around me like chains.A voice whispered: "You were never one of them."I dropped to my knees, tears stinging my eyes. I dreaded this moment, if I ever had to relive this moment again, it'd kill me. Yet, here I was. How could I survive watching him betray me over and over again? Was this the moment I died?I shut my eyes, gripping my chest as I struggle

Alexa's eyes darkened. She turned abruptly causing her hair to whip around like a cape. Her eyes fell on Thane, and stayed. He was panting, eyes narrowed, and sweat glistening his forehead like he had just fought the biggest battle of his life yet. And his lips were parted… he had spoken! The surprise passed through her face first, then an amused expression flashed through. She mouthed a ‘wow’, her eyes glowing as she crossed the distance between them.“Baby," she cooed, her voice shrill and fake. “Did you just speak?" Thane swallowed, the defiance evident on his face. “You've done enough, Alexa. Let him go. Let us all go already." The corner of her lips twitched, and before she could help it, she was laughing mysteriously. “You broke the spell. How…no, scratch that. I am so proud of you, baby.” She threw her hands over his shoulders casually, like she was just his beautiful bride and Luna, and not the darkest villian he'd seen yet.Thane made to step backward, out of her hold, but

Light engulfed me. A blinding type of light that was warm at the same time. I closed my eyes, letting myself be transported through whatever time. It felt like every part of my body was pulsing with a strange energy that I couldn't even describe. When it finally stopped, I opened my eyes and found myself standing in a field of moonlit grass. In one hand, I held the book. In the other, a ring. The ring glowed with ancient runes, pulsing like a heartbeat. My eyes widened, realization dawning on me. It was the Aurora's seal.In front of me, Alexa knelt… defeated, her magic unraveling like smoke in the wind. My lips parted, but no words fell. How…?I felt another presence, and I looked up immediately. Just beyond her crumpled form, a figure stepped forward. My breath caught."Mother..."She looked the same as the last time I saw her, young and strong, her silver-streaked hair braided back. Her eyes were soft, but her presence commanded the sky itself."This is your future," she said. Her

It was truly Nathan. He was gaunt, bruised, but alive.Luca was panting, one hand to his throat. Nathan looked between us, breathless."I thought you were…" he began, but couldn’t finish.I didn’t know what to say either. Relief, shock, confusion—it all crashed into me at once.We stood in the middle of the ruins, three ghosts tangled in the ashes of the past, none of us able to speak. The air hung heavy with ash and silence.I stood still for a breath too long, staring at Nathan as if I were still seeing a ghost. The tension between the three of us crackled like static before a storm. Around us, the burnt ruins of the hidden village loomed, charred skeletons of what used to be safety and belonging. The smell of old smoke and scorched memories hit harder than I'd prepared for.Nathan's eyes softened when he looked at me. He seemed older, but beneath the dirt and bruises, he was still the boy who used to bring me berries when I cried for my mother. Seeing him again touched a spot I did
